My last one I used Kar-dol. Shoved a styrofoam peanut in from the back end and packed it full, installed the hook. I was using a cut-off piece of a calstar blank (butt). had to grind the little tail piece to get it in.

just sent a 7 footer to Ontario Can. to my Son,2" PVC tube. USPS 6 days arrived just fine. Wrapped it in a length of foam pipe insulation and some bubble wrap spacers

you should not have any problems with it sticking, I have one here thats 10 years old. All I did was wipe it with Alcohol

Brush on the finish then use the brush "DRY" to take of the excess finish so you only have a thin "wet Coat"

is the reel seat metyal if so try a little heat to release the butt section (if not Blank thru butt) or cut seat off with Dremel tool, -cut on both sides and pop parts off with a Screw driver then lose the fore grip and rebuild

I have had cork tape on my rods for 5-7 years using only back adhesive and a butt cap / thread wrap ramp, still works fine. Still has that grippy feeling

Found this today! Seems to be a CO-2 fired casting rod, less than 4 feet long has a foam covered metal butt grip that holds the CO-2 cartridge. And a heavy chrome plated reel seat with a moving bolt like a rifle with a thumb accuated trigger. I believe it must have had a shaft of some sort that lanched a bobber or something? Blank is hollow with two guides and a sliding 8-10" tip section
