Thanks for all the info, but I have looked up all the sizes and diameter of threads.
I was just trying to find a thread that close to gudebrod D thread. I think I have found
something that will work. I found some Rayon 30wt. thread that is real close to it..
Going to try some and try it out, Will keep you posted on the outcome

If Gudebrod size D thread is 0.012 (TEX 80), is
there a much difference in Polyester (TEX 90)

36. Prowrap
Well I got a Problem,
I just laid down 11" of metallic copper as my base
coat and still have about 6" to go, and guess what happens..
I get a knot where they pieced it together.. I am so frustrated
with this Prowrap China made crap, this is about the sixth
time it has happen.. and also some times I get metallic that
has fade spots in it... Has anyone had this problem also..

I don't know what your trying to say,
but for as flex coat goes, it does crystallize
and its a pain to heat it up.. Thanks Norm,
I didn't know if I got it to hot that it wouldn't
break down the elements in flex coat.. I was thinking
about 78 F to keep it nice and warm so that I will
have less bubbles when I'm mixing it.. The way I

what I do is I put wraps over the end where I'm going to cut the threads even. If I use multi colors I leave that last one off then cut the threads then I take a piece of scotch tape and cut it to fit at the edge of the thread that is wrapped then cover the ends of the cut threads then wrap my last color over that to a smooth finish. Or if one color just do it before you cut your tie off thread

I have a little problem, maybe you can help..
I am building a 10' surf rod and I'm using GTRLS Typhoon Spin/Cast Guides..
The problem that I have is the tip top guide, My blank is an #18 tip and
I would like to get the same tip top the same material that the GTRLS is
made of, I would like to get it in a 10/18 or 12/18 if possible, can you help me out??

Its not a big reel and he's not throwing lures, he will be fishing off the pier for bull red and sharks, the line he has is 40lb mono I help him put it on the reel.
We are not fishing for small stuff, He has a spinning rod for that, He wants the gator glass because its lighter than most blanks.. He knows all about the different
blanks that are out there these days.. Got to give what the custome

Well on the reel I really don't know what brand of spinning reel he using but it holds
about 350 yards of 40lb Big Game and about 30 yards of 80lb braid for top shot.
The Knot he uses is the FG Knot, hope this helps, and once again thanks for all the help..

Ok all you rod wrapping gurus,
I have a question I need to ask ,
and my question is, when I lay my first
thread down for my 8 axis do I lay it down on all
8 axis or do I do my 4 axis first, and then come back
and do the rest of the axis after I finish the first 4 axis
with all the threads..

Well I might be interested in it first of all what is the tip on it a 16,17, or 18
and how much do you have invested in it. I have some friends that are wanting
a custom rod built, I have about three on the table I'm building right now and if I
