Doc, Your email address is hidden. At the top of the forum list where search is, there's another tab there called "my control center". You need to go in there, under "Edit email settings", and conform your email address.

Ken Preston does a very good explanation of 1-4 thread trim bands, and alternating colr changes, in his DVD. It'll be the best money you ever spend.

Another option is to look at garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores etc. and find old rods that are in fair shape. You can get them anywhere from $1 on up. Strip them down, and rebuild them. That's what I'm doing for practice.

I have written several people, that I saw were selling take off guides and parts on @#$%&. I don't know what it is, but they don't want to fool with them. They just throw them away. I even offered to pay the shipping if they would save them for me. They said it just wasn't worth their time to box them up and send them.

Beautiful work!! Where do you get your Fuji reel seats. I saw them on the Fuji sites, but couldn't find them listed with any of the sponsor sites.

Some of you fellows may not have read my "Cry for Help" post. I am disabled (SSD on the appeal stage) and cannot work. Therefore I have no income, to be able to purchase back issues of RodMaker, or that is exactly what I would do. I am awaiting my small income tax return from the first half of last year, Out of which I hope to subscribe. Going over the contents of the back issues

Another newbie question here. I havent been able to buy any how-to books or video's, so I've kinda been flying by the seet of my pants, and what I could learn reading here and on the sponsor's sites. I see all these great looking guide wraps with one to five wrap trim bands. How do you tie them off. I guess what I'm really asking is basicly how their done.

Mike, I know what the epoxy mixers are for. I was just brain storming a little to try and help Rady figure out a way to dry his reel parts so he didn't have to spend so much time turning them by hand. i had seen the mixers and I noticed that some of them had a turntable of sorts. I thought maybe he could adapt one with a dowel or a bolt or something. Just trying to help out. "Two hea

I too agree. So many people are so afraid that your going to steal their business that they don't want to share anything. I've found this a LOT in the wood working hobby. Some people won't even let you take pictures of their work for fear that you may steal an idea and improve on it.

I'm a newbie here, but i've read a ton of posts on this subject. Most of the more experienced wrappers rocommend that you learn to wrap on a hand wrapper ( which is what I'm doing) then step up to a power wrapper. I built my own wrapper from stuff I had laying around the house so it didn't cost anything. It's not as pretty as the store-bought, but it serves my purpose. Once I get a few rods u

Bob, I, being a Bass fisherman myself, would prefer a 7 ft. medium action fiberglass rod. Fiberglass is more forgiving, especially with smallmouths, when fighting the fish close to the boat. Smallmouth are known for their never give up behaviour, and tend to run when they see the boat. Fiberglass gives with the fish, allowing for the hooks to not be torn out. I would check with the custo

I am getting ready to install the guides on my nephews rod. With 3 leg guides, which direction do I install them? Single leg toward the butt, or double. Does it matter? Thanks

I was just thinking that I saw somewhere cork bobbers that were round. You could remove the clip and cut them in half then drill or ream your hole.

If you knew the Anglers, you could look at there sponsor list from the classic and know who provides their equipment. Unless, of course, their using custom rods.

Thanks for the advise guy's. He has a twister thread, that I really want, that I've not seen anywhere else. It's orange yellow twisted together. I'm not going to buy from them anyway, but I sure would like to have those colors if someone else had them.
