Pete, I'm a NEWBIE too, and watch these post's like a hawk. Seems like every day someone asks a question that is the same as one I have. I remember a post that said, if your using Rat Tail files/rasps, to chuck them up in your drill and run them in reverse. I guess it's not supposed to chew up the cork so bad. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

Is it as critical with RodBond to mix 1:1 as it is with thread epoxy? Also, (Begging again) Does anyone have a roll or part of roll of NCP Black thread (A) they wouldn't mind parting with?

I went to the BassMasters Classic at the Greensboro collosium a few years back. If this show is even close to that one, you'll need both days and then some to see everything.

I wanted to thank Spencer Phipps, Mick McComesky, and Ray Mazza for their help with supplies to help me get into this great "Art", and it is an art IMO. I still need a few things if someone would care to share a little, such as these others have. I still need some Rod Bond epoxy, and some cork. Mick, and Spencer sent some cork foregrip and butt grip, but they're too small for what I

How do know what length of handle to put on a spinning rod? Is there a standard published somewhere. I ask this because I took a 6'6" vintage solid fiberglass rod to a man once to be redone and he put a 4 1/2" butt grip and a 2" fore grip. The balance is waaay off. He used EVA and I'd like to rebuild the handle and use cork. What length should I use?

Thanks to those who responded. I can understand how people can think "Oh he's just looking for a hand out" with all the frauds that are perpetuated today. I can assure you, I am not looking for a hand OUT, just a hand UP. Some of the ones who responded wanted to know why I was disabled. I have diabetes and developed neuropathy in my feet and legs to the point that I can no longer

Huh!!! 88 views and no offers to help me? I thought better of this group. I'm not trying to rip anyone off or give a sob story. I just wanted to see how many might be willing to help a beginning rodmaker who's down on his luck right now. If it's any more incentive, I'll keep track of who sends me what and pay them back as soon as I can get some money coming in. Please won't someone help me

I hate to sound like a bum but: I am disabled and have no income, it doesn't look like my disability is going to be approved anytime soon. I want to build my 7 year old nephew a rod for his birthday out of some old rods I have laying around the house. I am going to build a Wrapper out of some scrap lumber I have. What I need is for some of you kind souls to donate some wrapping thread (red, w

Yea, I went to their link. They don't have a supplier in WV where I live. The dealer search said Jann's Netcraft was the closest to me. But, Jann's doesn't list U-40 products in their catalogu, just Flex-cote. I need to know who distributes for them. Thanks, Bill in WV
