We’d recommend a popping blank and maybe a crankbait. So from our RainShadow lineup the Revelation REVIP blanks would be great, L to ML power – just depending on length that you’d want. You can check the specs here:

We don't really use RDA measurements (we have other traditional measurements that we use) so don't have that to supply. A few different guides work, the ForeCast HCBG or you can go with either the ALPS XN or HXN guides.

Dennis, yes the VD XPBVDLG (the T is a mistype) guides would be fine for a 40lb class rod. Roger when talking about ALPS in North America refer to our Batson catalog and our www.alpsforcast.com website on part numbers – we don’t always use the same part numbers as the ALPS factory does.

Hi Brandon, That sounds like really rough blank. I checked out stock on that particular model and none are rough. It goes through a wet grinder so there shouldn't be any inconsistencies in the smoothness of the blank. If you get a chance, please email me a photo at marketing@batsonenterp

For keeper grouper? If so, like Grant mentioned the RCKJB700-250 keeps it fun and the 700-325 is a bit stiffer - this is what we setup our charter guys with. Check out the specs here: Now if you're going for giant grouper it's a whole other beast of a blank.
