63. 5' Jigging Stick
Hey everyone,
I have a customer that's looking for a stiffer walleye jigging stick. He want's it to be around 5' to 5.5' with a stiffer tip. As all the jigging sticks I've built are all 7'+ I'm not sure of any blanks that would fit this discription? Any tips on a rod this size and what blank to use would be a great help.
Thanks!

64. Re: spiral wrap?
Not that they'll need it, but on all my micro guides I've used the locking wrap just to add a little more sucurity and comfortability for the customer.

Here are a few pictures... They seem to all be "South Bend" rods, don't know much about them but doing my research they seem to be nothing to special. Would still be fun to clean them up for him, I know he would love it. They have product numbers on it, I'll make sure not to scratch those off, would varnish stripper be ok with these rods?

MY girlfriends grandpa dug out 3 old bamboo fly rods he had tucked away in the attick from his younger days last night. I thought to thinking that it would be a great birthday or christmas present for me to fix them up and maybe head out on a fly fishing adventure like he used to do. I've never fixed up a bomboo rod before and was wodnering if it needed any special care besides the normal guide

69. Tip Repair
Hey everyone!
A buddy of mine broke about half an inch off his ice rod last week and asked if there was anything I could do to fix it. I could do the easy fix of taking the tip off and glueing it to the blank making the blank a half an inch shorter or so but I got to thinking if there was anything else I could do so I didn't have to shorten the blank? Would maybe a support and some epoxy kee

Hey guys,
So I just finished up lathing out my first handle, it's a 12" cedar handle for a musky rod I'm building for my uncle. The problme is I have the handle done but I still need to drill a hole donw the middle about 10 inches deep.
I have a wierd lathe where I can't put a drill bit on it to drill the whole so I need to use a drill press. Problem is I don't want to hurt the handle
