Would micro guides function well as the 180 guides? building for light plastic bass rod

As long as the guides will pass your connections they will work fine. You may even be able to use them for some of the transition guides.

The very first bass rods using micro's were all spiral wrapped.

Not that they'll need it, but on all my micro guides I've used the locking wrap just to add a little more sucurity and comfortability for the customer.
