Hey everyone,
I have a customer that's looking for a stiffer walleye jigging stick. He want's it to be around 5' to 5.5' with a stiffer tip. As all the jigging sticks I've built are all 7'+ I'm not sure of any blanks that would fit this discription? Any tips on a rod this size and what blank to use would be a great help. Thanks! That's pretty short for a walleye jigger...I don't know of any that short that would work great. Mabe some one else will chime in. I would not go shorter than 6', I personally like the sj783 mhx or the isj782 from Batson ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Edited 2 time(s). Yea i tried to explain to him the benefits of a longer rod, but the customer seems pretty set in his ways so I want to do what I can for him Re: 5' Jigging Stick

What is he using now
If it is too long and not have the power he wants Maybe you can trim the but and the tip ( carefully ) Put guides on a certain points and have him pict up weight as for fish - lure weight to see if he feels he likes it Only trouble is In real fishing he may not You are going to have to TRY to figure out how he expects the rod to Perform Bill - willierods.com Re: 5' Jigging Stick

No big deal to cut any 6’6†blank to the desired length. Just depends on the Power and Action he’s looking for. Most of my rods finish at around 70†or less. I usually start with 6 1/2’ blanks but I also have used 7’s. I trim mostly from the butt end, but often trim the tips to get the Action/Power I’m after. Shortening a blank allows a lot of Power and Action adjustments/options. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
