I can say for a fact that the 316 stainless that American tackle uses is better than the top leading competitor. Hands down the act guides are way better. I had a set of the chrome microwaves and a set of virtuse guide on surf and on inshore rods. I used them daily and did not wash off for a year tring to make them corrode. Not a speck of it. I did this to see if I wanted to sell to customers.

The AXSU100M-2 from American tackle in the atx series 10' 15-30 1-4 2 pc. MOD-FAST MEDIUM 7.0 0.608 6.9 This blank is a 50/50 split but for the money it's a great buy. I build them a lot for throwing sting silvers for blues and Spanish.

Other blanks to look at are the bushido's by American tackle. There mag bass MB73/8-15 makes a great shakey head blank. Very sensitive, with the microwaves is a match made in heaven.
