I'm wanting to build a worm rod for personal use. I like it fast and heavy, 7' 3" or 7'6" having trouble choosing, high mod or just graphite.
it will be used on East Texas lakes - Fork, Rayburn , pwr plants and smaller lakes as well. current rod is SVll 7' . Question is -size vs. weight just looking for personal opinions. Thanks Re: confussed

personally I would choose a 7-6
since you are using it as a worm rod where feel is paramount. I would go with a high mod blank which would provide better contact feel. I would use: Micro guides to allow for my balance point to be as far aft as possible- increasing bite detection. split grips to keep it as light as possible. to keep it as sensitive as possible I would stay away from cork or foam and go with a graphite type handle.
