I have managed to get a few spots of pu cork adhesive on the flocked shrink tube part of a rod handle.
I must have had the adhesive on my nitrile gloves and unwittingly transferred it to the flocked shrink tube - its only a thin film but it definitely wont budge using DNA - anyone have the answer? Re: cleaning pu adhesive from shrink tube

What is "pu" adhesive?
Acetone has a bit more power to soften and remove adhesives, but generally once an epoxy has set it's going to be there unless you can shave or sand it completely off. Acetone can also "melt" some plastics. ................ Re: cleaning pu adhesive from shrink tube

sorry, PU = Polyeurethane
i have a feeling the only way to remove is to sand it with very fine paper, and hope that a little steam will rejuvenate the flocked surface. Re: cleaning pu adhesive from shrink tube

Ive had good luck using acrysol on shrink tubing cleaning them. I have red shrink on a surf rod and cleaned it and looked like new. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
