What ever blank you get, make sure you get a maker that supports the blank , not one that you can't get to , one that will contact you, check some of the old post an find out the best support I think ,

one is fairly hard the other is soft , with the use that glue joint would work against one another an would be more problems that just EVA or CORK altogether , I think , PS never have did it, just my 2 CTS on the question, could be wrong ,

Go for it they are very comfortable you should not have a problem , I know I did not, a plug in the end ?? try AUTO plastic plugs , can be had at the local auto parts store , as well as the big box hardware the BLUE ONE has a few put the AUTO parts store has a book with about 100 different styles an a few different colors ,

get a cheep BLANK to work on first an see how it comes out before you do it to a GOOd SAGE, I think, most of the jobbers on the left have cheep blanke to work on

When you turn the bottle over do it slowly so the cap gets full with no bubbles near the tip of syringe some times a bubble will get trapped in the cap, also if you are loading a large syringe you will create a vacuum, an bubbles come in around the stopper . take an play with it an see where the bubble comes from ,

what ever repair you make it will work very well for you , you will not be able to tell , & the repair plug INT. or EXT if you don't have a section the local 2nd time store should be able to get you a old rod to fill the need , I think

On my trolling rods I like to use ACID wraps on my guides , you don't get the twisting on the blank as much in the rod holder, just my way ,

if you put paint on a hard surface the paint will not crack just wear down , but if you put it on a semi soft surface [ cork ] it will crack over time , letting the water, fish grime get under it , I do believe , could be wrong ,
