A lot depend on what you can do with the rod , if you have a lot of fly fishing know how, a 8 will do , but if you are like me wet behind the ears on fly fishing, go with the 9 my 2 CTS.

Trolling rod ?? because the rod is in a consent bend from the BAIT an line drag , you should look at a SPIRAL wrap rod , so it would not rotate in the rod holders when trolling I think

Depending on when they were made , the newer ones say you don't have to wrap the Ferrules , I just feel better if I wrap the ferrules, no matter when it was made , it don't hurt a thing & I feel better , some builder's [ like me ] do wrap, some don't , ,

The answer is yes . any thing you but on a blank will effect it , saying that will you be able to tell ?? only you can tell , it depends on how light your feel is . an when you are fishing with line , BAIT OR TACKLE on a boat that is bouncing a little , who knows what you can feel , I don't know the answer , that is what I think

Epoxy line hard to get a good one you need to add some type of EVA or gasket material , check your local auto parts store , remember when you are shaping your handle at the different rings, you will have a problem getting it smooth no bumps

262. Re: U40
no shelf , life but one will get yellow / amber, with age, just like it will on the rod . normal , as I see it , if the color bothers you don't use it , but the amber one will hold just like the new epoxy will do ,
