Inflation is killing us....Unicorn horn grips and valyrian steel framed guides arent cheap these days. is this the "naked" rod with carbon wrapped guides? weird website with some strange visuals for a rod company.

some reason cant quote lynn's post...keeps coming up with a banned word..strange. anyway x 2 on split reel seats for spinning. IDK how anyone can fish with those in comfort. Spinning reel seat comfort and tennis elbow were 2 of the reasons i got into rod building.

pac bay makes minima black frame/gold ring guide ya can look at voodoo rods for matagi metal parts which have gold options and i believe they may have a gold inlayed carbon fiber tube for reel seat hoods. seen some pics of leather wrapped grips so its doable. or ya could do stacked leather rings like an estwing hammer

with an IP at 213g that puts the FW702 in the trout/panfish category IMO. Similar to ST CROIX LF. I fish the 66LF croixs and mhx S782 for the same stuff. They would work well with those light rebel craws and spinners but bigger smallies are gonna give ya a run for your money especially in current..throwing jigheads plus plastic, id want more power.

ed guides train sizes are good. i like that 20,10,5.5 guide train. how far out did ya set the stripper. did ya check for any line slap between the reel and the stripper. the first spinning rod i built i put stripper out too far and was getting some line slap which cut casting distance. ended up redoing the guides on it.

For baitcasting i like the daiwas....The tatulas are a great value and i dont see a need to go any higher in the line up. Tatulas come in a wide variety of models too. Still fish my old TDZ'S , original Fuegos. I have a couple JDM Daiwa pixy's for finesse. JDM Better? Cool factor? i wouldnt say that....When i got them Daiwa USDM didnt offer anything like those pixys and presso for finesse cast

I havent used any of the blanks since rodgeeks took over sellIng St croix blanks but the SC 66MLF, s66MF, 69MLXF(now 610MLXF), and 68MXF are some of my favorite smallie blanks. all these do alot of things well MHX SJ781 is another favorite, very versatile , built mine as casting and really love it for small jerks and poppers but still fishes small nose hooked flukes) 1/16-1/8oz jig heads pl

thx again. it answered my original question perfectly like i said before, these are the first 2 NFC blanks ive handled and just wanted to know what to expect. so +/- 8% from tip to butt. if it was just the tip i probably wouldnt have given it a second thought... it was the overall larger dimensions that made me question thx
