Carbon Solid Tip UL Blanks

Hello,
New to the forum and looking for some direction as I'm looking to get into rod building....I'm principally a UL fishermen looking to make my first build. I'm a huge fan of Ray Fishing out of CA and have fallen in love with their solid tip rods.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a manufacturer of solid tip UL rods? My preferences are UL XF or UL F.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

I guess you have to look in Asia or in Europe.

In Japan you have Matagi with some ST blank in their offer, in Europe some rodbuilders order OEM ST blanks from China

Or you can make such blank yourself cutting some tubular blank and glueing in solid carbon or e-glass tip for ice rods. This is they way some rodbuilders give 'second live' to rods with broken tips.

Best regards,
Pavel

For me I've got one and the sensitivity is amazing; blows every other tubular tip rod I've ever used out of the water...and while I'm not buying $300 UL rods I'm not buying junk rods at Walmart either.....
It has both pros and cons (super sensitive yet fragile tip) and seems to be very popular with UL JDM rods.

Here's a very over simplified break down of the differences
