Hello .
Thanks for this advice .
If i'm correct , the height of the SCXOLSG#20 is only 34mm ( size 25 is 45mm ) . Not enough for my need .
TMZ#20 and CMSG #20 are said to be 46.5 mm height , which corresponds to the way I build my rods.
Then i'm going to ask to my dealer . Not sure he knows their weight , but may be he can say which is the lightest ?
Thanks .

Hello .
I'm Looking for an cheaper alternative to the fuji T-KLSG#20 ( $33.5 ) .
I have the PacBay CM4CG#20 ( 2.31g) , but i don't want guide without ceramic .
Both other PacBay , new TMZ#20 (weight 2.5g ) and CMSG#20 seem to match my need .
I think i would take the lightest .
CMSG would be a great option , as i would like to bend the frame to match the height of the Fuji T-K

Yes , every weight added will slow it .
Since i didn't held this blank a long time before i varnish it , I must be confused by my feelings when i thought it was stiffer .
I would hate to have to buy the blanks by two ...
This blank is a NFC MB 705 HM, that i plan to fit with TKTSG #3 ( 0.0306g ) , TLSG #3,5 for tip top ...
From your experience, is that such ad

Hello .
Since i varnish a blank , i feel that it came a little more stiff ... Not sure because i dont have an other same blank to compare with .
For instance , a 7 foot blank m=54.40 g.
With 2 coats of Lumiseal ( with piece of pantyhose ) then m= 54,64g
So the quantity of varnish weight 0.24g .... This is 0.411% of the weight's blank ... no too much .
Then i try to estimate the aditi

Hello .
This afternoon , i drove to my dealer to test / purchase some blank .
Here are some data that i collected :
NFC MB807 HM :
Length : 242.7cm
Working length :211.7cm.................... deflection :70.56cm
Power :591.1g ( 20.84 oz )
TA: 59°
(I didn't have time to test it with the strict CCS way ....)
The weight was not applied exactly at the tip , but 3/4 cm above. I as

When i go on their blog , on this particulary page , named : " NFC Available Blank Stats "
I read : " STATS OFF-LINE. BE BACK SHORTLY! "
Ken , what do you mean when you says " their older blog entries are still online you can read all about it. "
Happily , i have the ability to hold it , because my dealer is not to far away from me . A

Hello .
Since i held some NFC Blank , i think I must make an effort to find the good blanks for me.
My old CCS data blank from Noth Fork Composite don't have it for this NFC MB 807 HM .
Or some other either.
I can't find CCS data on the NFC site . Yet two years ago, I could still ...
Could someone please provide it to me?
Thank you !

Hello Chuck.
Thanks , it's nice :)
I expected more light compared to what I had found . Ok i note it .
So the lightest is still , for me , the Fuji T-KTSG #3 with 0.0306g ( ) ( nine guide weighted )
And with an ID of the ceramic = 1.26mm ,BMKLG-2 is the second smallest .
The smallest is again the Fuji T-KTSG #3 with 1.07mm ID .
But BMKLG-2 is a much cheaper!
And if i need a l

I held PU foam sheet ( 2lb / cubic foot ) and i noticed that it has better mechanical properties that the PU foam that i pour in mold ( 2lb too )
Mine lacked rigidity and weighed twice !!! And has bigger cell size ( this incrise surface resin absorption and the weight ... )
So i did my little investigation ... What i learned is that PU foam available in sheet has much bett

Hello .
I just purchased Sulky thread .
There are Sulky metallic and Sulky Silver . I didn' found the holoshimmer .
Sulky Metallic diameter is very close to the diam. of Gudebrod thread "A" . Difficult to say if it is a little thinner or a little thicker.
With a digital caliper :
-Gudebrod thread "A = 0.10mm =0.00393 inch
-Sulky Metallic = 0.12mm=0.00472inch

Well , not realy for wrapping guide in fact , but for the trim band .
I received Fish Hawk "000 - 3 / 0" Pure Japanese Silk Thread , that are so thin!
I wondered if metallic thread would match with such tiny thread ?

Hello .
I wonder if such fine metallic thread exist , and if those have been used to wrapp guide ?
Specially if fine thread are used too ,like sulky thread for exemple .( or other fine thread )
All metallic thread seem to be as thick as size "A" thread ?
Thanks .

Hello .
Thanks for your comments .
Ok , i'll stay away from sewing machine thread .(It was convenient because I have on hand )
So silk seems to be thread of choice . I've never touch one .
CP and silk ? Will silk fade with sun ? UV rays can destroy the silk? I mean silk is more fragile than nylon in the sun?
I had not yet addressed the issue. I'm going to make a search here.

Hello .
I use the size A since a long time.
But with Micro Guide , and because weight is the issue , would it be reasonable to use a finer thread that the conventional size A ? If that exist .
I think especially in light blank ( spinning , from L up to M )
And i have a so thinner thread from sewing machine , i wonder if it would be strong enough ? i will have to make a try .
Well ,

I have been advised that this one could fit with my need .
I have a 6'3'' med-fast spinning rod , MH ,1 oz. And i want a longer rod ( 7 foot) with the same action and power .

Hello .
You use Kabura by 50/70 metres , with strong current . And you want to animate 3/8 oz lure ?
With such condition , i would use lure up to 5 oz ...
I'm not a vast knowledge of all the offers blank , but i would think that blank with a glass tip , is not very common.
This is a special action , i guess only big Japanese brand offer such special rod .
Maybe with Matagi ? I believ

Hello cosimo-angione .
A Kabura is like a Tenia , isn't it ?
I've heard about Tenia last year. It is a Japanese technic , a shrimp is threaded on a hook . ( a special lead head )
The animation : slow or quick sometime .
The rod need to have sensitivity .
My first think was about an Extra-Fast action , but not as powerfull as some Magbass blank .
Maybe some dropshot blank ...?

Hello .
Thanks everybody .
Well , the scales are tipped on the side of sandpaper !
I would not want to leave loose grains !
So i will first do my reamer with sandpaper .That said, the abrasive grit might be useful however for other use( not rodbuilding) ...i can purchase half a pound for $6 i think...

I have some broken rod , and sand paper too ( aluminium oxyde) and was ready .
But recently i discovered the abrasive grit ( silicon carbide ) from size 40 to 1200 ..And i am curious to know if there are some rodbuilder who use handmade reamers built this way ?
I guess epoxy is used to coat the grit on the tapered blank ?
This could make better files?( In fact, reamers with

Hello .
Flexcoat lite is the finish i'm used to since a while ...
But to coat Micro guide , i'm thinking to use Permagloss ( it is going to be dicontinued ) , or Lumiseal or maybe a "marine bi-composant sparurethane" to get a low built.
-What'll happen when i need to replace a guide , wrapped with PG ? I mean , with Flexcoat , the thread and epoxy can be easily stripped .
