Does anyone know if you can get the Daiwa ags carbon fiber framed guides anywhere? I saw St. Croix was using them on some prototype rods.

I searched through the old posts for cleaning brushes. I came across a post where Bill said he uses mid temp lacquer thinner. I tried it and that stuff is flat out awesome for cleaning brushes, not to mention like 10 bucks a gallon. So thanks again for the awesome tip!

Im building an old St. Croix legend tournament, I believe it was called the "Slip Stick". It was a telescoping 8' rod. Here's the problem i didn't layout the guides before I glued up the handle. If I put a guide right next the the joint when it is collapsed. When I extend it out, the distance from the real face to the first guide is 32". Do you guys think that will work. I o

Has anyone setup a minima spinning seat in the uplocking position? It looks like your thumb would probably sit down on the rod real nice.

While cleaning out my uncles garage, i found an old fishing rod. Its made out of copper, and has 4 sections that telescope out of each other. Anyone ever see one of these before, I haven't.

I would recommend going with atleast a 7'6" rod, unless you are using mostly jerk baits. I think you will like the longer rod. Most guys are using either 8'6" or even 9' for muskies now.

If you know some one that has a metal lathe or is a machinist, they could make you one really easy.

That makes me cringe just hearing it. My buddy once got a 7/0 treble hook through his wrist, looked very painful.

I know this has probably been on here before, but i couldn't find anything in the search. Do you guys think that the woven graphite tubing from mudhole would make a good extension? I was going to do a 14 in. handle with 6 in. on the rod and 8 in. extended.

A little off topic, but i'm wondering what you think of your pro kote? I saw there their yellowing comparison on mudhole and it looks really impressive. Have you been using it long enough to comfirm that it stays clearer than other finishes?

i bought a sticky backed ruler that fit in the thread carriage track on my power wrapper. Works great, the track kind of helps to hold the rod.

They do have a barrel full of cheap blanks. They seem to be the stuff that doesn't sell too well, but you might be able to find something. I haven't been there in awhile but they used to have the big spools of thread for $5.

I would reccomend just a simple dimond or chevron crosswrap. They are both very easy.

Has anyone used the short split grip butts from mudhole? They said you bore them out with out going all the way through, then slip it over the butt of the rod. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and how did it work?

Ive used flexcoat lite. worked good seemed like it liked heat to get the bubbles out. Started turning yellow after two seasons of fishing, they all might do this ive only had enough time to tell on flexcoat. Ive also used tm lite. Goes on good, levels good, definetly doesn't like heat put it on and leave it be. I didn't like the cure time, it takes almost a day to cure. I also have used th
