Guys,

I will be using Threadmaster Lite finish on some of my rods and I have the following questions:

1) What is the minimum & maximum ammount of time between coats? (I will be aplying two coats in some areas)

2) How long should I wait before I can use the rod?

3) What is the life expectency for this product? (I have some new stuff (couple of months old and some stuff is about 2 years old)

Thanks...

Here are MY suggestions based on MY experience ...

1) 6 hours and 48 hours.

2) One week. TM Lite takes a longer time to cure than other epoxies.

3) There isn't an "expiration date".

My opinion would be to switch to Diamond II and be done with any problems... I've had much better results now that I've switched.

He didn't mention any problems he was having, and none of the common thread finishing epoxies are problematic.

Everything Jim said is on the money.

Just to add.....Air temperature make a big difference, that's why Jim's numbers are so vast. The colder the temps, the longer the numbers can be.

If you plan to store your bottles of TM lite for a long time, just warm them up before re-use, a few seconds in the microwave makes them like new again. You can also sit them in warm water as well. Remove tops so no pressure builds before warming.

Have you guys also noticed that TM lite needs to be mixed a lot longer than other finishes?

Jason,

Yes it does.

I do 100 strokes left, 100 right, 25 left and 25 right....works every time, using a flat spatula.
