Marco, I'm from Russia, and this site, Rodbuilding.Org, is one and the only reason I started to build rods by myself 4 years ago. Just because I did like (and still do) "original" Shikari's, I expected that ATC blanks will be as close to "originals" as possible. But, from what I red in this thread, I found out that, since original mandrels still are in OK, I couldn't expect that ATC blanks

Spencer, I think Talon rods and blanks are now the most known in Russia, no tricks. We have a very active Talon dealer here and much larger choice of rods and blanks (but blanks are mostly available on a special order basis) than I ever saw somewhere on American or Canadian sites, even on Talon's webpage itself :-)

Like Stan, I usually wait for 2-3 days before PG almost stops smell at all. A couple of times applied 2-part finish over it next day without having any problems, though...

Just my 0.02 I'm with Emory. Upsizing the top on lighter rods may affect rod performance. And not the way you like. IMHO
