91. Re: Is It True
I think it's also depends on the blank... Some have very pronounced spine, some not. In the first case the difference on which side guides are placed may be felt considerable, in the second - very subtle.

Sean,
I'm not sure that Gudebrod finish you mentioned is urethane-based, but it's relly easy to work with... One more thing about Gudebrod #840: it also acts as kind of color preserver, comparing to any epoxy I ever tried, or Perma Gloss. I mean it doesn't darken thread as much as other finishes.

A-ha, one more Russian-spoken person :)
It's simple, Scott: I'm Russian and Ken knows it... But you are right: it's enough to trick the others.

Thank you, Tom, for making it clear. Hope I'll be lucky to get some from Karen
P.S. Seems hard times are coming for not expensive American-made blanks :-( Wish Dan Craft start his spin/cast blank program (LOL)

Thanks, Ken
But what was strange to me when I looked over their site yesterday: it was up and running but without a link to "Blanks" section :-(

98. All Star blanks?
Yesterday I could not find blanks' pages on All Star's web site. Just am wondering what it may mean?

Gudebrod one part finish #840 gives alike effect, the thread doesn't darken as much as it does with epoxy or Perma Gloss

Tom,
I think having 30-35 builders from Europe at the show is a real success. Don't forget that rod building is not as much spread in Europe as in Northern America.
