Rod repair (not one of mine) job on a loose reel seat. SURPRISE, masking tape arbors. Ended up having to cut the seat off because of the paste like consistency of the masking tape underneath.

7. Snook Weave
The design is from a window decal by Kevin Brant that I converted into a weave pattern. The weave is in a split grip on a Loomis HS9000 IMX.

9. Scales
Nasty weather kept me inside today so I did one of my favorite wraps, blue metallic and silver scales.

10. Halo Guide Wrap
Here is the guide wrap on the camo rod. Single foot SIC's with green and tan under the guide, one coat of epoxy and then the same green on top. I like being able to see the guide foot through the wrap and so I left the silver from grinding the foot.

11. Camo Halo
This one was built on one of the Mudhole Camo blanks with camo grips and reel seat. The tiger wrap is tan and green to look like the camo. It is size A Gudebrod tan and med. green on the bottom with CP and the same green on top also with CP. The rod is for Taylor who is expected to be born on Jan. 20. and his parents are good friends of mine.

4-axis spider done on a Calstar GF800M for Mutton Snapper in the Tortugas. If it looks familiar that's because it's a recreation of a pattern Michael Joyce posted with silver substitued for the white.

I've been wanting to try this design ever since I saw it on The Rod Works site. Next time I'll make the body a little smaller and more elongated. I didn't want to change anything about Ross' original design so I used the same colors.

I'd like it somewhat complex but since it's been sitting for the past year I also really just want to catch something on it. I like the 3D boxes but wanted to do something more complex than that and I have scales on nearly all my other rods. Billy I'm pulling your book out now to check out the iron cross.

I usually build larger diameter blanks but have an inshore Loomis that I have had planned for myself for the past year that still sitting on the shelf because I can't choose a wrap. Any suggestions for a closed wrap that looks good on a small diameter blank?

I used to double wrap everything because it's stronger, but do you really need stronger? I've never had or heard of a guide being ripped off a rod by a fish. When doing my static tests I use 1/4" masking tape to hold the guides on and rarely get a guide to rip the tape. For offshore applications I will double wrap, not because I think the guide will be ripped off, only because I wanted two l

I assume that most people on here are boaters of some form and could benefit from this information
On January 9, 2009 a good friend of mine, Rob Murphy, was spearfishing off the coast of Jupiter, FL. After surfacing he noticed a large sportfishing boat heading towards him. His dive boat, with dive flags clearly displayed, was near-by (less than 100 feet) and in route to pick him up. The captai

Also on the Seeker rods website they have a video of a rod being built from blank to finished rod.
Look on the main menu (to the left) and under the media section you'll see a link to "Video"

I'm the perfect candidate. I have 5 years of experience, but only about 40 hours of actual work time. Question, is there 2 weeks paid vacation? If so, could I use those right after I start?
j/k
I worked for Mudhole for 4 years and they are a great company with great people. Good luck with your search, I wish I was a little closer.

Here's a closeup of a couple reversing chevrons I did
On the bottom rod (Gators) the first thread (layout thread) was orange in the first cheron, and the first thread in the second is white.
