Bearclaw, I built one for my 'ol lady and she loves it. It is the same blank as their E-Glass Blanks and is of good quaity for a fiberglass rod. The finish looks very nice and has not yet begun to creek, peel or fade. The only problem I see is that for some reason they only painted about 2/3rd's of the blank pink so if you do not put a butt wrap on the rod you will be able to see the white pri

On my latest grouper outing I attempted to move back on the spot by leaving the motor in reverse. I put my new grouper stick in the rod holder and upon putting the motor in reverse managed to get my line caught up in the motor. I've never used a spatula to apply epoxy and would like to try. Could someone explain or recommend a book/video that explains.

Thanks for the replys. On the Flex Coat website it mentions to thin epoxy by adding a small amount of acetone, do you recommend this? Tom, do you always scuff the first coat with Scotchbrite before applying the second coat? Why does this only happen sometimes if it is natural for all hard and glossy surfaces to repel things applied to them? Scott

I am currently building two grouper rods and upon applying the second coat of epoxy I am noticing that the epoxy is not sticking in some places. The first coat goes on great and I make sure not to touch the epoxy after it dries as to not contaminate, however, the second coat always comes out with dimples, regardless of how much epoxy I apply.
