I know this might be a long shot but I'm trying to find and Outcast Blank GSC-1625 with the cameleon finish that someone might have sitting in a corner. I understand these blanks have not been run in some time but I thought it might be worth asking. Thanks, Ron

Looking for quality builder to make me a two-piece graphite surf rod. About 10' long and able to cast spoons and plugs up to about three ounces most usually two. I will be using a spinning reel. Would prefer a builder who can provide some customer references. Would prefer NOT to work with anyone who is a rodguild builder. I am located in the MA area but willing to work with a builder in other are

Hi all Working on a new project. Friend wants to fish hard in the channels and cast far. Interested in a 10' Rainshadow 1208 which can toss 2-5 oz's. The tip is 9. He'll also be winding braid on the reel so SIC is important. Was wondering what folks would recommend for guides - number, size etc. Right now I am thinking the Fuji MSNG (rather than the the std NSG). Was think SVSG or Surf gui

I have recently seen surf rod grips/tape that were synthetic in materials. These were grey or black in color and had a somewhat abbrasive / coarse feel and look. These were definitely not cork tape or heat shrink. Can anyone tell me what this material was, provide good and bad reviews and provide a source for purchase? Thank you very much!

Are there any decent brick and mortar retailers of rod components in the Outer Banks or Wilmington N.C. areas? I'm heading down there this week for vacation and need to pick up a few items. Thanks.

I posted this on 2 websites, noreast and stripersonline, to try and get some organized functions for local builders in NY and NJ. Please let me know what you think all suggestions are welcome. DISCLAIMER: I don't want something where we grade a rod, where someone wins, someone loses. I don't know what to call it, so if anyone can think of a better title for my idea, let me know. Also let me know

Well,I only build flyrods for now and I've been using LS Supreme since starting out.I have had somewhat mixed results unfortunately. When everything goes right,it looks fantastic, but I've had too many cases where it doesn't and feel it may be time for a change(or at least time to try something else). My health has been diminishing and I've found that the extra coats needed for the results I want(

I have a request from a customer to build a 9ft surf rod. It is from a female that is 5'3" tall. She says she has small hands and would like something that is as light as possible and would like it to be able to handle lures ranging between 1/2 oz to 2 oz range. Since I build primarily bass rods, I always like to ask you guys that build a lot of salt water rods what your suggestions are. Let

Wondering about the possibility of building a 9-10' 10wgt. with a removable fighting butt AND removable extension grip to allow for either single handed or two-handed overhead casting styles as desired. Would be using the rod with shooting heads in the surf but it would be nice if able to increase it's versatility.

I'm going to be using Aftco seats on some surf poles. I can't find any graphite arbors big enough. The outer diameter of the arbor is to small to be reamed to fit over the blank and even if possible they would not match up to the seats themselves. I looked through Dale Clemans , and Tom Kirkmans' books and could not find anything about mounting these larger seats. Should I use cork tape, masking

There is an issue with how rod blanks are categorized that has been bothersome to me for many years now, as a custom rod builder, manufacturer, and supplier. I would like to ask for some help, and or suggestions, in coming up with a solution that would be recognized by rod builders. So, it is to the rod builders around the globe that I ask. Rod blank models are originally developed and manufactur

Has anyone seen anything in English on the new Fuji Low Rider Guides? They're apparantly available in the UK and Conoflex UK is apparantly using them on their fishing and tournament rods both multiplier and fixed spool. It seems also that Daiwa is fully committed to these guides on at least some of their line even surf rods,I've"heard" that Shamino is going to them as well. I've only se
