I had gotten some thread from Glissengloss.com it is called Rainbow blending thread, a mettalic filament wrapped with nylon fiber, they look really good shiny and sparkling, but when I coated it with epoxy it look like it was going to be all right, but when I came back 5 hours later, there was fish eye galore!! it looked like a pic of valleys and hills, I thought maybe I should of put cp over it,

Capt Neil, Hello, I haven't heard or talked to any rod builders around this area, I live in Champaign Illinois, Its a colledge comunity, so to my guess theres not that many people fish regularly if you know what I mean, the guy I'm gonna build for its for his brothers who live a ways from here, but 25$ an hour plus the cost of any deco wrap sounds fair to me. So thanks for the feedback, Tight wra

Thanks all, I think I will get the cost for the parts and the rod blank, and when he comes to pick it up, then I will get the labor charges, by the way can anyone tell what would be a fair price for labor and for the deco wraps? thanks again.

Thanks Ken, Thats sounds fair to me, and i like that follow up, cause I really don't want to get stuck with those rods and trying to find a buyer cause the customer didn't pay, Your'e right about the 'give himthe total price, I wouldn't want to give him 2 different charges and scare him off, thanks again.

137. Re: FYI Rod Bond
I had that done with me, i got a sharp knife and carefully went around the underside of the cap until The tip of the knife was getting under the cap a bit, then I tried to open it, after a few times it came loose but one got cracked and broke, but all I had left was enough to do a couple more rods. Hope this is helpful. Good luck!

I have a Shimano Saros 2500 spinning reel, and is building a 7ft med light spinning rod,I'm using the Fuji Rapid choke method also. I find using the GPS software mine also comes out to 11.5", and with the 27x method it came out to 14.60", so with the KL-H design spinning guides I am thinking with the higher frame and the smaller ring guides like the 12 and the 5.5. and the size 4 KB's

I know I measured it right, and it was in the mixer for a little more then 3 minutes, and I used the same epoxy for the other threads on the rod, but its just on that wra it getting discolored. Its hardly noticable, I am just wondering what could of happened.

I have a white MHX blank that I just finished like this last spring, and I looked at the threads and epoxy and there was yellowing in the epoxy on the wraps where the hook keeper is, I was wondering if it could be that since the blank is white it shows up earlier or it just more distintictive cause of the white blank? Its just kind of faded yellow not that bad yet, or could it be that there was s

I do with mine, since it does got nylon, the mettalic part doesn't, wether it does or not I put cp on anyways, cause it helps with the bubbles, and it keeps it together until I am ready to put a coat of epoxy on it. Thats just what I would do. tight wraps!
