I will third the MHX blanks they also have a really good warranty, I am on my 8th or so blank and they have been reallt good actions and especially the High Modulus blanks are really fun to fish with, I walk around these lakes when i have no boat to fish on and they are light enough i don't really feel that exhausted from casting all day. tight lines!

Could anyone tell me how those rubberized cork butts hold up, like, do they chip or should I cover them with epoxy, or would cork seal do? I only found one pic of a rubberized cork butt, but it seems like they would chip very easily, any suggestion would be helpful, plan on using them for my next 2 builds. Thank you.

I just got done with a rod on the dryer, I had wrap the rod with 2 colors of metallic and a metallic trim wrap, I made sure that it was all packed as tight as I can get it, then when I looked at it under the sun i noticed like 4 of the guide wraps and the butt wrap had openings in the wraps, as if the thread slipped apart, you can't really tell from afar, since the thread is purple met and bluem

167. Re: Fuji GPS
I found out the same thing, the only thing thing i could think of was that Fuji was using the KL series guides , which has a higher frame, which made the distances different then the 27x, method, I may be wrong, so i will wait to hear someones elses responce.

You took the words right out of my mouth Billy, and Lance when I want a lighter rod I don't put a tiger wrap or an deco wrap, I put both on an Hi modulus MHX rod and after it was done said to myself , "should of left as is" lol! But they do look nice.

I am just curoius, I read about using lighter guides and the weights of different components to get a lighter rod, but then when they go into wrapping those tiger wraps and those decorative wraps, what would a 10th of a gram or whatever the - or + of weight compared to another guide or reel seat matter when a tiger wrap or deco. wrap is put on, seems to me the weight of the wraps would make those

173. Fuji KB runners?
I am ordering some KB runners Fuji micros , they have an opening on the bottom of the ring, I was wondering if I would need to do a Forhan locking wrap on those, since it has that opening I was thinking that the epoxy would flow into that and that way there would be no need for the Forhan locking wrap, has anyone wapped any of these micros? I can use some ideas on wrapping them before I get start

Bill how far do want to take it! tis on the Tiger wrap, on a split grip rod, so it will be on the edge of the EVA, near the split grip area, and what does pinball have to do with applying epoxy on a tiger wrap? lol!!

Tom, I tried that but it left a soaked spot all away around like the eva soaked up the epoxy and it just looks like a not to well of an epoxy job, if you know what I mean, I am going to sand it and see if it does'nt turn out like the others when I tries to sand thew epoxy off of the eva, I got winding checks on, but the epoxy just flows over the winding checks, especially on the last coat of epox

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to keep the epoxy off of the eva or cork when I epoxy the tiger wrap, I always seemed to get some on the eva, and it looks awful, especially after I try to sand it off, discoloration, eva falling apart ect.. I tried to tape but it still gets through. LOL! I end up wanting to epoxy the whole grip! Any suggestions will be helpful, thankyou!

Hello, I too do not do many rods a year, maybe 10 if I am lucky, I like to have everything in order and everything set up to where I want it, I finally got the right height to my bench where I do all the wrapping, and on the far side of the bench is where i do my mixing and glueing, I don't have that much space in this room, so try to keep everthing to where they don't get mixed up and lost like
