applying epoxy getting better!

I just got done with the 2nd Chevron wrap, and both I got em done in just 2 thin coats each, so I want to thank those who gave me all them tips on how to apply epoxy thinnly and with a better leveling job, they both came out level with out all them hills and dips like all the others before, where I had to sand em down and would take me like up to 4 coats, of like sanding them down to get em level before each coat. I still got lot more to experience and learn on rod building, but I have got plenty of time. Tight wraps u all!

Hi Lorenzo

I hear what your saying. The epoxy coat is what is giving me the most trouble as well.It can make a great binding job look ordinary or an
ordinary binding job look good.Hopefully i can get better as well or maybe my expectations are to high at this point.Anyway good luck on
your next bvuild and hope its better than the last.

cheers

Hi Lorenzo,
You've heard all the tips so don't stress, just do it and it will be fine. I must have been lucky when I started using it a bloody long time ago, nailed it first go despite using anti quated measuring methods and not having a clue what I was doing. I wasn't stressed just expected it to turn out good and it did. Had very few problems in all that time but after some tips from the knowledgeable gents here mine has got better, especially the edges as I now pay more attention to it and try to get it nice and straight.
Ray, your in the same boat. Put it on quick, a light lengthways brush, some mild heat, check for coverage and then leave it alone
