Brian, back up one wrap of the white, take all of the yellow back to the left, be sure you are putting each thread in the correct slot number in the left side loom, tighten up the blue threads and be sure they are in the correct slots in the right side loom, looks as thought they may have been crossed or returned to the wrong slot on your right hand loom. After everything is back in order take yo

Decorative thread work it seems, has always been controversial to some degree. I must agree that a rod is a tool and getting the best tool for the job is the bottom line. That said, there are reasons for the extra embellishments.( Go to my photo page to see some examples.) A special gift , kinda like a gold watch, something different from the rest, to show your appreciation for something, to some

Mike; You might give it a try and if you enjoy what you are doing you will find it may take some time but not "patience". I'm not what I would call a patient person, but I find weaving relaxing and gratifying, so from my perspective no patience required. Billy Vivona's book is the best on cross wraps and you might try mine on weaving.

Madera Polyneon #40 is, as stated, slightly thinner than "A" wrapping thread. Polyneon #60 is thinner than #40 and #75 is thinner than #60. Color choices in #60 and #75 are limited. I would up to "D" as a wrapping thread for weaves when using #40 for the design. I would drop to "A" or #40 Polyneon for the wrapping thread when using #60 or #75 for the design. The nice

Steven; Give Randy Penny (the U C owner) a call and tell him just what you are looing for. I'm sure he will have what you want. I've built on many of their blanks and they are excellent.

Yes, Just finish the under work first. Remember to try and center the weave on the pattern of the under work so it looks balanced when finished.

Bruno, if you don't already have the blank, I would question the 4X rating. That usually means a rod rated for heavy line.

Rod ; United Composites is now owned by Randy Penny. Randy was the shop foreman and blank designer at Seeker in the past. He has owned United Composites for several years now and is producing excellent blanks. Many are new designs. I would suggest you give them a call and ask which of their blanks fits your needs.

I made my 3 year old Great Grandson just what he asked for "a real rod like yours", a 7' 6-10 lb. composite spinning rod that he fishes from the beach and docks. He likes to take it out in his back yard to practice casting. You might be surprised at how well these little guys handle a regular size outfit. See a picture in my gallery.

Why don't you just call Randy (the Owner) and ask him what you want answers to. He knows his product and has a competition Bass Fisherman working there.
