Titebond II is also waterproof, you may notice that at the store, but III is water cleanup also.

Colter,
Have you tried putting "shakey" in the search function, "all Dates"? Research is half this game.

You need to spend more time looking yourself and less time trying to get a review from others. The Elliott 71MXF got my attention immediately, the stiffer tip compared to like powered blanks in the catalog led me to believe it would also carry more weight well, improving the top end jigging power, the larger butt diameter led me to believe it may carry larger loads well, and the weight of the bla

I have no idea if it can outcast them all, no one has casts them all. NFC ST1143-2 X-Ray C6O2 will get it out there and give you a world class steelhead and coho rod besides. Same models in lesser carbons will also work in the same fashion, all species. Great compromises between getting it out there and using them all day in this length.

You would hink they would weigh similar to like size guides from other sources that have the same wire diameter, you'd have to have 20 - 30 of them to get an accurate weight difference I imagine.

It's probably the P. E. rating, or diameter of the line, it's been around since the 90's and easier to use than a digital value when ordering line.

L. A. Garcia in his rod building books also did not run over the wrap edge with his finish with no apparent ill effects in saltwater fly fishing.

163. Re: Walleye blanks
The jig fishing I do out west requires a more powerful blank then I built when I was in Michigan, the rivers are deeper, steeper, and faster. The reservoirs are built on these rivers so they are the same less the current to a certain extent. A 20+ lb. fish is also not as rare, even though what you describe is the norm. !/2 oz. jigs are our bread and butter, and heavier, Heddon Sonics and jigging

Been a long time since I tried one of those rods, the NRX version, I had no problem throwing to 5/8 oz. just like the line class rating led me to believe it would.

If you do your part and glue up well you have nothing to concern yourself with, you rods power is about the same as a 6 to 10 lb. line steelhead blank, it is the way fly rods are built that makes them feel the way they do, if your set them up like a gear rod and tested them you would get a completely different impression.

Welcome,
Looks like everything is there for continued success, short of more epoxy finish and adhesive as necessary, personally the alcohol burner is not needed, and will take a while to get used to as it seems initially when using that you need it closer to the work than is necessary, causing more harm than good. use your other hand to gauge heat and distance before using. You'll learn and enj

I steer more toward Michael in guide layout, the object from my reading and experience is to get the bullseye, I have not read or experienced anything mentioned in the NGC or GPS that guide progression has anything to do with it or was even considered. I am working on a guide blank today that has a pronounced bend in the tip 25% back that requires more guides to follow it correctly, either side i

I know a few people who have used the Bushido blank and really like it, use the search function above, I bet there may be others here who have used them. Remember to use "All Dates".

The old Lamiglas 15 ft. Heavers were built that way, you bought a long blank and the extension to get them that long, worked for decades on sturgeon to 10 ft. just below Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River.

We have been using those style divers for many decades for fishing, some like the Doel-Fin were depth adjustable. You had me confused with the description, a planer for us is a device that pulls your offering, and stays on the surface, away from the boat to broaden your trolling pattern.

All the grip with a hump in them will be larger than a standard pipe seat. AmTackAero, Wiebe/Supersticker, many of the fancy new seats from everyone on the left with a hump in it, Fuji IPS/VSS, AmTack Dagger.

Evan, So all your grips are custom made to match your reel seats? Because pre-made grips are usually in the 27 mm range, if you can hold on to them, you have already answered your concerns.

Not sure what "a little more action' is, but a medium inshore would be a good choice for trout and jacks, not my choice for snook. Med Hvy would be ok for snook, not so good for trout.

Haven't used the IMMP70UL for walleye as the waters out west I walleye fish demand heavier gear, that said I surely love my rod for a bunch of other things, smallies, trout, panfish, very versatile.

The real G Loomis rods never came with a 16 mm seat it was a 17 mm minimum, even the UL rods, St. Croix in the same time period had 17 mm seats. The larger seats also match up to your cork preformed grips much smoother and nicer. The 18 mm reel seats match up smoothly with the .980 ID carbon tube a lot of us used in the earlier carbon grips for both casting and spinning rods.

I just thought something like the DS 6100-1 would have given similar power and the faster, softer tip for the light stuff. Closer to your optimum length also, once you mocked it up and got the grip length right you may have gotten away as is.

I wouldn't expect throwing lures less that 1/2 the lowest lure rating on the rod and also throwing a knot would be this rod at its best. The guide closest to the reel has to be high enough to cast well, your original guide thoughts in a higher framed guide would work just as well and be less expensive. Just compare the guide height to the RV guide.

Daryl, You said there were other blank manufacturers who are selling like material and quality blanks out there you buy from, who are they? From my looking back on the other companies that sell blanks, the vast majority made offshore, their description of the materials they use are 15 - 20- 30+ years old stuff. Many of their patterns older than that, if we are going to compare apples to apples, w

The grip section is one piece, I don't believe the blank is removable from the grip once it's glued in. there are no ferrules or clamping nut like the saltwater and old rods had to allow the old grips to be removed.
