The ones I have stop at 0.827 inches OD, but as the OD goes up so does the ID. You can make eva checks with a drill motor quickly and easily.

Have you tried reaming by hand and see if you get a better result?

Rod Forge is the owner of TFO fly rods, he brought his production back to the US in a new plant in TX. The gentleman who owned an interest with St. Croix in Rod Geeks sold out to St. Croix and went to Rod Forge, at least that was how it was explained to me some years ago.

Any 2 part epoxy adhesive will work, takes very little, I butter it on than I can scrape it off to keep the mess and glue line to a minimum, doesn't take much.

Lengthen one is pretty simple, just put two or more on an arbor to keep them aligned and move the threads till the nut smoothly moves from one piece to the other. Make alignment marks, glue everything up, align the marks, check to ensure you are still good, let dry and use it.

Since you are overwrapping the fix can't you do it in a close color and then install your guide over it with its color wrap?

Bought one of those dollar black and white cover subject books with graph sheets in it, many years ago, put all my stuff in it, including an illustration with measurements, has worked fine so far.

I believe those are just a standard slot garage wall tool plank we have seen for many years now.

El,
So, you are saying if I built a rod out of bamboo, E glass, S glass, early generation carbon fiber, and X Ray material, as long as the IP and AA were identical you wouldn't care which one you used in your application? I was just saying I think there is more to it, and the high end option wouldn't always be my first choice.

My favorite salmon jigging rod is the Rainshadow XBB962, they quit making that blank because there was so very little difference between it and their more popular XBB964, which would my second choice. Both have nice soft, M Fast tips. Forgot to mention the XBB964 is good to 4 oz., you may get 5 with some jigs. If you are fishing deep with the heavier stuff, say 6 oz. or so I would use another pop

Not what the system was designed to do, it's for comparison purposes only, would be no better than asking who makes the best inch, or best pound.

Wouldn't be my choice either one. I lean more to mag bass here. Made jig/trolling rods out of telescoping flipping sticks back in the day when I flew into fish lakers. Jigged Mackinaws in Lake Tahoe with my custom G Loomis MB 843, Lamiglas made a telescoping 7 1/2 ft. rod specifically for jigging spoons, but that was 20 years ago.

I think either would work, Sage 7 wt. XP ran #1 snakes with zero problems, my 6 wt. GLX has had #1 SF guides since 1990's no problems.

Colter,
Have you tried putting "shakey" in the search function, "all Dates"? Research is half this game.

You need to spend more time looking yourself and less time trying to get a review from others. The Elliott 71MXF got my attention immediately, the stiffer tip compared to like powered blanks in the catalog led me to believe it would also carry more weight well, improving the top end jigging power, the larger butt diameter led me to believe it may carry larger loads well, and the weight of the bla

I have no idea if it can outcast them all, no one has casts them all. NFC ST1143-2 X-Ray C6O2 will get it out there and give you a world class steelhead and coho rod besides. Same models in lesser carbons will also work in the same fashion, all species. Great compromises between getting it out there and using them all day in this length.

You would hink they would weigh similar to like size guides from other sources that have the same wire diameter, you'd have to have 20 - 30 of them to get an accurate weight difference I imagine.

It's probably the P. E. rating, or diameter of the line, it's been around since the 90's and easier to use than a digital value when ordering line.

119. Re: Walleye blanks
The jig fishing I do out west requires a more powerful blank then I built when I was in Michigan, the rivers are deeper, steeper, and faster. The reservoirs are built on these rivers so they are the same less the current to a certain extent. A 20+ lb. fish is also not as rare, even though what you describe is the norm. !/2 oz. jigs are our bread and butter, and heavier, Heddon Sonics and jigging

Been a long time since I tried one of those rods, the NRX version, I had no problem throwing to 5/8 oz. just like the line class rating led me to believe it would.
