I've built several rods using different types of Point Blank- blanks, and every one of them has exceptional vibration/feel. Your lack of sensitivity has nothing to do with your blank, carbon insert, carbon handle, epoxy, thread, seat or guides. And every thing to do with the tape insulators you used for arbors When you use a soft vibration's robbing material (tape) between blank and seat,

Most hobby stores that sell remote control air planes, will have all sorts of barrings in many sizes. Can get them with plastic rimes on them that are used for landing tires with solid rubber or dense foam tires mounted on them.

With all the great products and materials we have access to in this craft. I don't understand why any custom builder would use masking tape as an arbor.

I do exactly like Mr. Phipps most of the time The only exception is when I am wrapping 1.5 through 2.5 mm guides, in these situations I will use 2 locking, and 2 or 3 blocking wraps

Actually have 4 of their guides in the shop. That where given me at one of the ICRBE exposes many years back by Bill Stevens. couple years after I started experimenting with Micro guides Bill suggesting that they might be a viable option when looking for a taller striping guide when using Micro's. Did not like the quality of what I saw or the extra weight created by the solid frames, so

James Taylor is usually the only one who checks this web site on a consistent basis, and is actually out of the the office. Which is why he has not responded yet. I emailed him and asked him to take a look at this thread when he gets back. So he should be responding in the next couple of days. Bill and some of the other staff are presently out of town working shows, Bill told me the other d

David look and see if you notice any traces of a glue joints on the inside of seat and graphite tube. I've been using these seats since before they were even on the market. (during testing and evaluation phase) With one exception I've never epoxied one, and have never had a problem with them coming loose once installed. The lone exception was on one that came loose while reaming (got stu

Mr Unger Don't know what type of fishing you do, BUT if it involves sensitivity in respect to "feeling what is going on at the other end of your line. Whether that be feeling your bait working, or the fishing biting I have THREE pieces of advise 1. DON'T DO IT 2 .DON'T DO IT and in case your not sure 3. DON'T DO IT Yes most golfers have for years used Winns grips with great succes

unless you are building for "pretty" and if you don't need the for grip for holding onto. And if you want to better take advantage of the sensitivity that MVT seats can provide. I would suggest staying with the standard hood and not use a for grip

Batson supplies some of the finest blanks on the market. In my opinion better then the blanks you are comparing them to. Some of them made in the USA and some from other countries. But regardless of were they come from, they stand behind their products 100% They have one of the best reputations in the industry with their customer service. As far as I'm concerned there is NO " buy at yo

I use the Batson ALPS guides, and have yet to have one of them fail Here are a couple old threads from 10 years ago, that may help you out the test done in thread below was on a frog rod that I some times flip with, (still use that particular rod today) and continue to use that
