Hello all. My last coat of finish over a graphic in the butt wrap area has a sag. I must have put it on a little thick. The whole area is about 7 inches and there is about a 1 inch wide spot where it is a bit lower. My question is can I put a coat of finish on JUST that area? Will it blend with the already cured epoxy?
Thanks in advance.

123. Re: High Build
I had the same problem, I couldnt even draw anything. I emailed MH and was told to warm it in water to get rid of that. I havent tried it yet. I warm my epoxy in water usually anyways, but this was so thick I was concerned, so I stopped

No, you can print any color background. I have used black, blue and red with good success. Make sure you have new cartridges for big backgrounds, use the highest printer setting possible, and spray Fixativ on the decal before applying. I am at my real job today but will try to send you some more info and some pics

Thanks Billy. Its just the butt cap i need to take off so no arbor involved. Its a wood handle rod and like an idiot i put the cap on and need to sand it some more so i need to put like and old piece of rod on there so i can sand the whole piece on the rod lathe.

Morning all, quick question. I need to remove a butt cap that I applied with Pro Paste. Will a heat gun work to remove the cap/button?
Thanks!

Thanks guys. I was reluctant to put the second coat on thick, as it seemed to glob alot. I think it would be good for guides, I tried it on a larger area. Thanks again.

Thanks Joe. I will prob test it out later. I believe that it will be ok, most epoxies I believe have the same temp and texture, regardless of how they are mixed. I will let you know! thanks again!

Hello everyone, Is it ok to put a coat of 2 part over the new RD one-part after it is completely dry? I wont go into the reasons I need to, lets just say its not for me, and I should have tried it out before I used it on a real rod, especially one that needs to be finished by tuesday! Stupid, I know.
Thanks in advance

Hmmm, might have to try that David. I used reg CP, not the clear (which I also have) and it kind of faded a little. Not too bad....
Thanks!

Thanks Roger, it is for a friend actually, not a client per se. It was a 50th birthday present, and I put a lot of work into the NY yankees graphic. Being a Red Sox fan, it was difficult enough to stare at the logo of the Evil Empire for that long and I am not sure I could relive it! . Thank you very much for the information, that is totally different than some other advice I recieved, so I ap

Thanks Roger, it was actually USPS I was angry at but your point is valid. I guess as a taxpayer I am just fed up with the fact that they bleed money on a daily basis, and was ranting. In fairness, I am new to this game and unlike most of you I have only shipped a dozen or so rods and this is my first bad one. I am however, a man of my convictions, and will not use the US Postal Service again f

Hello everyone, dealing with my first rod broken during shipping (thank you USPS, never again). I think I am lucky as to the location of the break, a few inches in front of the first guide. Just looking for some advice on whether I should just make it a 2 piece? If so, as i said i have never done that before.
thanks in advance everyone.

Great tip! thanks Mark. I tell people the hardest part about rod building is taking photos. I have gotten better at it, but will give this a try. I know people have given great instructions on Photo boxes but I just dont have the room right now.

Morning all, I am doing my first white blank, a U of TENN theme rod. I want to do something pretty cool with the hook keeper and I was thinking if I put white thread with the orange that the white will become transparent. Am I correct in that assumption?
Thanks!
