Used my scalpel which gave me better leverage and obv better cutting power. Put a hosel in front and then right into reel seat. Thanks again. Not sure what you meant by putting an epoxy ramp there. I mean i have done those just didnt think it was the right spot for it since no other epoxy is present there. If i missed your intent let me know. Thanks again!!

Hi Guys, have a question for you. I am having a tough time getting the end of the HST small enough to line up next to the reel seat. I tried applying more heat, but it wouldnt shrink anymore. Can i trim it with a blade? Sand it? I have considered putting it on the rod lathe and cutting it flush with a blade then try to butt them up against each other. i have about 3/8 of in an inch curren

Thanks Tom, stupid question for you guys, but what am I going to mainly use the Nova or the Talon for? Right now I have a keyed chuck that I insert my mandrel in, and when I turn a blank, I use the drive center. Thanks for the advice, and pardon the dumb question.

Thanks Bill. I figured you meant for reviews, and although I had read most reviews from the seller (I am a big review reader) I took your advice and googled it. The reviews were all the same (positive) but I found out that it is available through Amazon for the same price! and as a Prime member, well all kinds of good things go with that. thanks! Scott

Hi Guys, looking for quick advice on the Jet 10in x14in 1/2 HP Lathe. It is on sale now for what I think is a great price, 375.00. I currently have a real old craftsman lathe which has served me well but I am looking for something a little smaller. Thanks in advance, Scott

Thanks Bill, i didnt find it in my first search but it was pretty broad, I will try again. Dennis, thanks for that info, I dont have the blank in hand yet but I had planned on cutting the butt, from what I know them they are very thin for such a long blank, It was clients idea to cut it, seemed pretty adamant, I will confirm with him though. Can you forward me what he sent you? Thanks again!

Hi all, looking for a little help here. Customer has a 12ft CTS Vapor Trail he wants me to cut down to 11ft. I will be using Fuji-K's for guides, starting with a 30. Can someone help me on spacing/amt guides? This is my first build on a CTS. He will be surf fishing and some Cape Cod Canal jigging. Will be putting a Saltiga reel on it. Thanks in advance! Scott

Thanks Chris. Question though. I already glued up the inner sleeve, should I heat it up and remove it, or try to get an outer one over it with a small slit in it? You make some good points, thanks. Also, has anyone ever tried fiberglassing a small piece of cloth over it? Thanks again.

Thanks guys. Roger, it is only not smooth because i have not sanded it yet, but plan on doing so. Since I did not use an outer sleeve I guess thats why I was going to put a coat of finish, then wrap, then finish. But,as you mentioned prob not necessary so I might consider taking that step out. Thanks again guys!

Hi all, hope everyone had a good time at the EXPO, next year I hope will be my first! I have followed Ralphs article and some advice from you all, and to fix my rod break (about exactly half way on a one piece 7' spinning rod) I removed the butt cap and inserted a piece of blank up through the opening and about 1 1/2" into to the top section. I applied pro bond to first the aft piece, the
