HST Question

Hi Guys, have a question for you. I am having a tough time getting the end of the HST small enough to line up next to the reel seat.

I tried applying more heat, but it wouldnt shrink anymore. Can i trim it with a blade? Sand it? I have considered putting it on the rod lathe and cutting it flush with a blade then try to butt them up against each other. i have about 3/8 of in an inch currently past the eva underneath to play with. I think that may have been my original problem actually, I think I left too much overhang. First time doing this.

As seen here: [www.rodbuilding.org]

thanks!

Scott

Personally I would trim the end back (on the lathe with d thread) so it's a clean cut. I'd then either find the perfect rubber hostle or metal trim or make an epoxy ramp.

Used my scalpel which gave me better leverage and obv better cutting power. Put a hosel in front and then right into reel seat. Thanks again. Not sure what you meant by putting an epoxy ramp there. I mean i have done those just didnt think it was the right spot for it since no other epoxy is present there. If i missed your intent let me know. Thanks again!!
