Thanx all. I used regular sewing thread for the split grip. I put 5 coats of Poly Minwax on it to seal it. I've fished with it and caught a nice 3 1/2 lb bass first time out. My next endeavor will be an "Irish" theme and after that will be a "Pirate" theme. All the words of wisdom on this forum have been most helpful. Thanx again. Re: Pic of my first handle
