LOL I have read many post about this subject ever since the micro came on board ! I even posted pics of what I use for the critters. I have come to the conclusion................We deal with it ! Its our craft! its our job! LOL enough said ! Lots of great ideas posted here we all pick the one that works for our fingers! and for some our minds!

Wow ! I am really curious on who was the maker of those monsters! Thats the only word that comes to mind for me on this! I have seen the bamboo, wood, heavy glass, graphite but that one I have not seen yet or even come across. I would have to pass up the opportunity to even begin to restore something like that! I will have to retake a crash course on my metal skills to even begin the project

Quick Follow up Sorry been out for a bit. I just read the thread fully Mike. Primer is your culprit ! In my application process I do not use a primer coat ! I use Perma Gloss for my choice of finish. Colors are not an issue for me with any rod and one 4oz bottle dose 5 rods for me depending on length 4 rods. Being cost effective and efficient with materials is important to be cost effective fo

Bill, I use 90 percent Alcohol to clean my air brush and my jars. its hot enough to cut the paint I am using. I could do a demo movie clip to show the cleaning process to make the point. Remember I am using PG not Automotive paint ! Pour some in a jar and spray some Alcohol 90% in it and see what happens ! then get back to me !

Hmm, I would agree with Bill boettcher on this one too much finish. If you're using an HVLP gun to spray it on, I would recommend changing the tip size to the smallest you can go with that gun. I would also reduce the guns volume and airflow to a minimum. Putting too much on will cause this ripple effect as well as using too much reducer. Take a dip stick and do a drip test before for consiste
