Brandon, we are located in Rock Hill, we are a Batson distributor as well as the exclusive dealer for Artico blanks. Currently we have only a handful of the batson blanks in stock, I'll have to check to see if any of those models are here, but you are always welcome to take a day trip and come by the shop to see anything we do have in stock.

Firstly, where are you located? There's more places than you think to pull on blanks. Second, why just Batson? Not that they are anything but great blanks, just wondering why only these models?

The 733 will be too heavy for what you are doing Brad. We use the 731 for flounder rigs, gotcha rods etc. Btw, we specialize in pier, surf, lbsf, and saltwater fly. So when you come down to visit bring a list of questions.

Going to be casting and paddling baits. Basically looking for the biggest nastiest guides so to speak. Will be using a spinfisher 10500 so the guides will need to be fairly large. Thanks for the info.

I have a request waiting for a customer of mine to have a custom built, 7' mh/h rod for carp fishing. Trouble is I am having trouble finding anything that fits his needs. He needs to be able to cast at least one oz. and up to 2 oz. He will be using an Abu 5500 and 17 lb test. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated.

I'm thinking the popping just because of the moderate fast action and the ability to load the rod from a seated position. Plus I like all the Batson blanks I have built before just always been used for heavier saltwater/surf. And not to mention the guy wanted all the qualities of the 844, even without realizing it. He even named the line, lure, action etch exactly as that blank is rated.

Anyone have any experience fishing the 844 inshore / popping blank? Any reviews etc? Looking to build this for a kayak rod maybe.

I am trying to find a blank that can handle jig and pig for bass fishing that would also hold up and be able to throw lures for reds from a kayak. Prefer spinning tackle and anything between 6ft and 7.5ft. All recommendations accepted including the ones for a non fiberglass rod lol. If its gonna get real technical, a stradic ci4 3000 will be used with 20lb braid.

Thanks for all the feed back. Terry Turner, what weight was this designed to be thrown with as far as line goes...I was think of making it into a lighter saltwater, inshore flats type. Think that may work?

I did it in sections, always overlapping the last section. so start at the grip work to first guide, do the guide and overlap towards grip. then to next guide etc. you will have to stop periodically to make sure u have enough epoxy for the whole thing, most of them took a couple of 8 hour sessions to complete and insure all the epoxy was connected with the rest. just make sure to do one final
