How does everyone keep there wraps the same length from 1 side of the guide to the other? Do you measure and then count wraps? What do you mark your blank with? Do you have to remove your mark or can you wrap over? Thanks for any help. Jack

Yes and that is how I will more then likley do the next rod. I am trying to finish this rod for next weekend. Also when I tried it on this rod(simple spiral) there is a lot of presure to the blank under load And putting a guide inbetween seems Like it would make it worse. Right now the way I have it it runs 1/16"-1/8" off the blank and hits the top or bottom of every guide (no side loa

Thanks, I really like the idea of the SIC ring (next rod) This rod is a e-glass blank pretty big in the butt.12-25 I played with all the differant spirals that I read about and the best I could come up with is #20 at about 25 deg the next is a #10 at about 120 deg and the rest #8 at 180 deg That keeps the line just off the blank the line looks good with the eye, pretty straight and smooth. I have been playing with guide placement and differant types of spirals and I think I am going to use the simple spiral and was thinking of putting some kind of ring where the line would touch the blank I would like a titanium ring to match the guides. The blank is about 9/16"(.625) at that point Do any of the venders at the left carry anything like that. Or maybe a womans ring. Anyone know

Thanks for the info Ryan, I was thinking from the grip out and the same on the tip top to keep it tight but the tip top I am using has a foot like a guide so I don't know if it is better to wrap up the foot like a guide or start at the tip top (to keep tight) and go down the foor. I was concerned about the tie off that is why I am asking. Thanks for everyones help. Jack

This is my first rod, I have the handle done and am starting to play with the giudes. The tip top I am using is a ICMNST and it has a little tab comming off it-I would guess to wrap. My question is do I wrap just to the tube?(but the tube not on top) Which direction to wrap towards the tip or away? I hope you all understand my ? Thanks Jack

OK I got an E-Mail today from Mud Hole and the reel seat they say to use is a Fuji DPSM-22, It is listed as a spinning reel seat is that right for this rod? If I use a spinning reel seat CRSD-22T Does it mater which way the treads go? up-down-front-back? Thanks Jack

You can pop the seals off easy enough then clean all the grease out. They will spin now. I cut the seal back from the inner and reinstalled. If you don't cut them back there is to much drag. you can also leave them off. Jack

Hi All, I am having a hard time finding the reel seat I want. The blank is about .750 at the reel seat. I am using American tackle Titans and would like the hood to match or close. My question is can you bore the reel seat to fit? The rod will be for rockcod/lingcod fishing 7' spirial (Acid) wraped. If someone knows of a reel seat that would fit what I want I am all ears. Thanks for your help
