In this instance I don't see any reason to use it. Won't hurt anything if you do - but since there is no color to preserve, I'd leave it out.

Thanks, I was thinking no CP but I am pretty new at this. I also thought blk on blk might be easer to hide mistakes.

Nope, no CP. But if you want to make the wrap even blacker - almost translucent - use the Flex Coat trick of thinning the first high-build coat with a little acetone. It'll be a really nice effect and a different kind of "black".
