I'm in there shop 2 or 3 times a month and talked with Jon about the move and feel it is the best for the family. I also told him when the dust settles I'll take him fishing. Dave retired from there last month. I guess I'm going to have to stock more guides and stuff to keep from dealing with shipping delays. Very sad day for me as I buy most of my supplies from them for 30 years

I not sure if it is just me but are fly rods a lot faster action than in the past? I built a 9' 4pc.9wt last spring for a trip and a WF9F and couldn't get the rod to load. So I took out my old 9wt put the reel on it and it was as if I cast again. I haven't cast a fly in about 10 year and at first thought that was the problem. I put a 12wt line that I had was a little much but would load and c

I remember it was a big thing a few years back. I did one for my self but sold that rod on vacation to a guy that had to have it. Now building a 9' 9wt 4ps. for my trip to Florida and it is just a thought. Think I'l build it and tape one on for testing

I found a rod that I built for a friend at a garage last year so I called him. His shop was broke into two weeks before that. He got that rod, his tablesaw a bunch of hand tools but no tackle boxes and a bunch of other rods were already gone. It was nice to see the cops take the guy away in cuffs.

I have used Duco cement and cork dust and have two rods that I fished hard for years and it's still holding up.The rods were built in 1980 and are noodle rods so the cork has some flexing going on to. Steve
