I run one and like a 8 or 10" rear grip and a 10" fore grip. The reel runs under the rod so a center pin style works good. I have one more Fenwick 12' UL left and plan to build it for my 1810 and use it here in Washington. Steve

I make a black dye and buy white solid braid and soak it for a week. After it is rinsed I do wash it. If it has a core of poly fill don't run it through the washer it will bunch up. The last one was black rope and a green net core wraped side by side witch makes a nice ribbed handle. Steve

All I can say is try putting a little weight under a rubberband, a balanced rod fishes better than a tip heavy one that makes your arm tired. I also use PacBay screw in fighting butt insert and brass washers on side drifting rods and everyone I built asked for #2 or add it to the rods they have. I turn the washers down so a butt cap fits the brass. Steve

I have 2 of the same rods and can fish then all day. I did use hardloy fly guides in 6 ring and have a total of 17 guides. The stripper guide is a 25 and I ramp down to the 6 ring. I have fished Noodle Rods for over 27 years and the only way to take weight off the tip is to counter balance the rod. First I set the reel back and use a longer fore grip 10" rear 12" fore. I also will ad

Does Fuji still have Hardloy tip in a 6 ring PLT-BPLT and GPLT. I know they have the BLLT tips but I like the braced turned down eye. I think they should all the guides go down to a # 6 ring in the NLG and BLG and I have some old stock BLT that is #5 and 5 1/2 ring. I'd just like to use them up. Steve

You will be happy. I have the H289-4 and hope to up grade to the 3 jaw soon P3JK Chuck kit. . I also have a 4' xtra track but I found that if you don't have a fixed spot for it, mount it on a 1x8 board to suport the track. so you can move it without taking the tracks apart every tine. Steve

I use a 1 1/8" forsner drill to drill a hole through 1/2" UHMW . I then cut a 1/4" slot in one edge to form a clamp. I have drilled for a bolt through the slot but finger clamps work to. Steve

I use Zebco Cardinal 4 reels on all my Noodle Rods. They hold around 200 yards of 8 lbs line and work good for me. You just need to remember the size of the reel to balance the rod and how your handles are made. Short butt grip long fore grip will work good with a UL reel like a Cardinal 3 but a long rear grip will need a larger reel to take the weight off the tip so you arm doesn't tire

I had a great time and would like to Thank Todd and Lamiglas. I learn something new each time I go and try it out as soon as I can. As I thought My Wife took my Putter pen as soon as I showed it to her. Don, Josh has put the hand wrapper to work and is wrapping and trying chevrons already. Thanks again. Steve
