Looking for info on typical guide material. Not the inserts the metal used in the guide itself.

I've wondered that in the past myself. Sometimes the wording on seat is different then what we get in stores etc.
They make some nice stuff for sure though

I cut one in half waiting on a response. Seems like you'll need a little tool to pop the front hood alignment slot loose.
Can you divulge your technique?

This was all done with an airbrush. Primer was rattle can out of simplicity. So far in general shop testing they are doing great. No there is no issues at all with the nuts threading on and off. They are tighter then unpainted but to me that isn't a negative. They seem to engage a little better. I've had one at my office all day just threading the nut on and off the seat and so far no sign of the

Got the itch to start painting my own reel seats the other day and wouldn't ya know I feel head over heels into doing it. These are all just testers I will be using for long term durability tests of the process and to get my work flow down but man I'm loving the results. I put some of these out on facebook already.
All these were painted with House of Kolor paints with several primer coats s

You would think with modern autobody paint that matagi would be able to paint the reel seat hoods. Anyone know the reason why they don't?

A while back someone posted up a simple excel document that helped out with the spacing on crosswraps. For the life of me I can't find the forum post though.
Does anyone happen to have a link to the forum or the excel file?
Thanks

27. Re: decal sizing
THanks guys I've used decal connection in the past am not unhappy with the results I just noticed that when I apply my label the combination of text and graphic cause me to rotate the blank some to read everything. Might have to size it down but wasn't sure if there was a steadfast method of proper sizing.

What has everyone found works best to produce a consistent decal size for different diameter blanks? Is there a formula everyone uses or something?

Thanks for all the help guys I guess i should have also stated that part of the issue is that a run 5 or so wraps of thread past the guide to help lock it in place. This in turn though causes a pain when trying to apply finish past the guide a little.

Thanks guys I'm actually having more trouble with single foot guides then double foot. The angle the guide ring goes vertical on blocks a clear accessway for the brush to apply finish.
