Does the size of the wrap matter on a rod? Does it make it stiffer or softer?

I am a new rod builder and I have always wondered how you guy do a multi color weave. Ive seen the DVDs on it but I still cant figure it out. The reason is that the DVD shows one color in each line. Now what if you have several colors in one line. How do you guys set it up, and how do you change from color to color?

Hey, I messed with a few rec guides and come to find out that if you heat them they become very brittle. If you are using them for a spin rod they work great but DO NOT use them on a baitcast rod. Once you get to use the small 8 and 6 you can break them real easy. Plus the line gets tangled in the guide every now and then. Don't get me wrong there great guides for some things but bad for others.

Hey gays and gals; I'm writing to find out about madeira 40wt. I heard that some people use this to weave. My questions are: What is it used for, is it wrap or weave, and can it be used for wraps. It is avalable is poly and rayon, which works best.

Hi Guys and Gals, I have been doing weaves for a short time now, and I've seen alot of DVD's on the subject. I noticed that everyone has different thread sizes. For example A for weave and C for wrap. Some people say use D ncp with C ncp ( or E reg and D reg ). My question is what is the correct thread size to use, and can I use the same size. Thanx

Theres a good DVD called Decortive Rod Wrapping Volume 1 Spirals and Cross Wraps. It gives good instructions and you learn the basics. From there you invent your own.
