Ya'll get the email from American Tackle to Cease & Desist? Then followed by a ''My Bad'' email. What the ? I understand that business is competitive and rights are rights, but that screamed cheap shot advertising to me. Makes me think twice about using AT on my next build just to show my disapproval with the "advertising campaign". Please don't come down on me for speaking my m

This Subject goes with the post below. Can i get some feedback about using a cross cut foregrip? Are they comfortable? Rod is used for casting heavy weighted snatch hook and constant pressure on hookup. Average fight on a 10' gator is around 10 minutes. Thank you for the comments.

Hello All, Just found a foregrip failure on a gator snatching rod i am putting together for the upcoming season. Not having proper tools i unevenly bored out the foregrip and didn't glue it properly. I was able to easily twist the Eva and break the bond on over 80% of the grips length. Cut it off and now i am left with a very uneven mess from the masking tape bushings (in an attempt to make the

Tim, Try the MicroWave Guides. Thats whats on my favorite 7' Redfish Rod. Had a little trouble with wind knots using PowerPro SuperSlik, changed to 10lb regular power pro and it cast great. I just finished a 8' 963 Liberty Blank and used Alconite Fuji K rapid choke Guides starting with a 25 , 12, 8. Haven't fished it yet, not sure if its my new favorite or not. I fish strictly with braid and al

I will try the file method the next time i run into such a stubborn tip. Little late now LOL I have two in for repair first one came off with a fight but it came off without blank failure, This one not so lucky. Fortunately they are bargain rods being fixed for resale so i don't think the inch shorter rod will be a big deal. Thanks for the input so far.

Good Evening Folks, Just melted the tip on a solid fiberglass boat rod attempting to get the broken tip off for repair. Now the rod will just have to settle for being an inch shorter that it used to be. Question is what kind of glue was used that gentle heating (thats how i started) didn't Release it. Kept heating slowly for quite some time before i got frustrated gave it the big flame and melt

Hi Jaret, If your gator blank is ribbed (if not disregard this post) and you are looking to hide them with permagloss or equal i would assume you would need a NY Cab load of product. Star Rods are very popular here in SouthWest Florida and they are completely epoxied over ribbed blank (at least the ones i worked on). A pain to replace guides on. I am not a fan of the ribbed blanks and would als

Ryan, Your search had the same result as my search. The text in the online catalog made it seem like other sizes may be available, which was my reason for the post in the first place. I have a couple tops coming and should be good to go. If they don't work i will just have to glue a black top on it and call it finished. Thanks for getting back to me, JS
