Guys, I need help, I build bass rods and one of my big customers is wanting a pan fish rod. He has decided on 7'6" length, Lite action with a fast tip. He always buys upper end and I am lost on this one. It will be a spinning rig and 1 pc. I have seen a few blanks out there but they seem very cheap for what they are and there is usually a reason for that??
Any help is appreciated!

I do my first thin coat of finish pretty fast on the power wrapper, I would say about mid throttle if that makes since. Go over all the thread, lightly, let it soak in then come back on dry mode, I use 18rpm, and add a little more, it want go past where you started and the line will be clean.
I never do one thick coat, always 2, sometimes 3.

I'm building a rod for a customer with a Batson RX8 IMMC72MH-TC Problem is, the customer wants the thread wraps to be the same color as the blank and I've tried every color I can find/think of and they are all off, wrong color, to much blue, to grey, you get the picture.
Anybody out there matched this blank with success?
Thanks in advance!

I am looking for an outlet that makes gold vinyl stickers. Have had request in the past and now have another customer wanting their name in Gold between the splits. Closest I have found will only go down to 1" in heigth and I am needing max 1/2 inch in heigth and 4" long. Any of you know of an outlet? Plenty of yellow's out there, but they are wanting sparkly mettalic gold. Ideas?

the customer is leaning toward the Immortal Series RainShadow, IMMC76H but he is scared it's going to be a broom stick with NO flex. Anybody tried these yet? I know they are new and I have not used them.

thanks Gene, I'll look into that blank. I haven't used many St.Croix, but know they have a good reputation.

Todd,
How is the castability of that blank? This runs into my issues with this build. Kinda have to have it all, Strength/Sensitivity/Lightness/Castability. I use a ton of MHX blanks, mostly the HM models, how is this blank compared?

I am lost on this one and only know to ask the guys that have helped me before!
I have a customer that wants a spinning rod made to order that will compare with a Dobyns 7'6" 765SF in action. With that said, he wants 7'6" heavy action with a fast tip. Will be using it for Bass in California, fishing grass/tules, ect...
My problem is, he needs it light weight, he is an older

A friend of mine gave me a very old bamboo rod to "re-do" . I think, in it's day this was a very nice rod and don't want to mess it up for sure!
I need a good way to remove the old flaky varnish that is on the rod without hurting anything.
Any help would be GREAT! And thank you in advance!

I use a #4 to start then spiral all the way to the tip top. Have been doing this for years with no problems and no complaints from my customers. A static test is a must on all spiral wrapped rods, the small action changes will define how many and where the guides should be.
I always start out with 8 guides, and at times have to add one. Have never went down though. Hope this helps.

I store mine in the house, then carry to my wrapping shed. Haven't had a problem. To answer your question, I have nuked my high build for a couple of years with no problem. 10 to 15 sec. at this time.
