I'm building a rod for a customer with a Batson RX8 IMMC72MH-TC Problem is, the customer wants the thread wraps to be the same color as the blank and I've tried every color I can find/think of and they are all off, wrong color, to much blue, to grey, you get the picture.

Anybody out there matched this blank with success?

Thanks in advance!

Lee

use white silk and thin out the epoxy a bit. the wraps will go clear and the blank will show thru. Just a thought.

Lee

If you have a sewing/craft store nearby to you that handles Madiera (polyneon #40) thread go and give their selection a look. Madiera has hundreds of shades of thread available, many more shades than Mudhole shows in their catalog.

Lee,

I have used white silk on those very rods, as Gary has suggested. I didn't thin the first coat, but recommend that you do. Except for a couple bubbles, the wraps are clear, and blend with the rod.

Take care,

Chris

Joel,
Good choice. I had the same search and came up with the same color.

I used Gudebrod 441 and it was a good match for me.
