IMMS72ML I have fallen in love with this blank for its versatility with light weight and finnesse presentations. I use it on the river as a drop shot rod, and have another built specifically for use with finesse swimbaits. As far as hair jigs I cant imagine it wouldnt be able to handle those weights and give you some backbone on the back end. It's just a super crisp blank.

I have the 705 Hybrid and honestly I am not a big fan of the blank itself for this size. The butt end is massive and the blank was not straight at all. Actually gave the rod away to a friend. I found it to be better with larger cranks and lipless baits. Felt a little too much rod for smaller squarebills.

Actually was thinking about the Revelation CB70M OR MH. Actually may even wait till they release that carbon matrix wrapped version, not usually one for the aesthetics but seems pretty interesting to me. May even do a M and a MH version. Open up the bait options Any feedback on the Batson Square Bill specific blanks? Seen them listed but rarely hear any recommendations or feedback.

Hey guys was throwing a buddy of mines Dobyns 705CB for 1/4 to 1/2 ounce squarebills like a Bandit 100 and 200 series on the river yesterday and was really impressed with the power and action. Label lists as a MH Moderate Fast blank but honestly the tip was soft and power didnt feel quite like a MH. Has anyone found a blank similar to 705CB? Would be interested in building something very similar

Really quick, how long do most of you wait to apply the second coat of Flex Coat Hi Build. Do you normally wait 24 hours, or is applying the second coat ok 6-8 hours later. Just curious what most of you do. Have always waited 24 hours, but not sure if that was overkill.

Agreed Utmost is faster to get me products from across the country than many of the others that are closer. An they are prompt, I don't have to wait a week to get an update or find out by mistake things are discontinued etc... Carol is great - changing to Utmost for my future builds.

I have really grown to love the spiral wrap on my casting rod builds, so much that I have basically incorporated into every personal rod I make. To date these have been more the pitching type rods, chatterbaits and lipless rod styles... My question is this, would there be any limitations to the use of a spiral wrap on techniques such as a jerkbait or topwater application. Something worked with

I have two blanks currently for jerkbaits - both have shorter handles, one being a Liberty MB 692.5XF, which is drying.... The other I have been thinking about using is an extra Immortal blank that I have down stairs the IMMC73ML.... I was considering cutting this one down to 6'9 as well, but thinking the IMMS72ML may be a better option cut down.

Quite simply amazing to think about catching a gator of that size with a rod and reel on purpose. An to think I thought a smallmouth could tug your drag.

Yes the guys over at AT have always been open and transparent about their product lines. Very informative group, the Bushido's are a diverse line of blanks. Very durable blank as well. Have had no complaints with mine.

How do you feel the tip will recover on a jerkbait, fast enough or too slow. Thanks for the reply.

My neighbor is tasking me with building a jerkbait rod for him. He seems to like a softer tip, and something with a bit more bend, so I was thinking possibly of a popping blank for him. Anyone had any experience with this Liberty P703 blank? I was planning to cut anything down to about 6'9 in length, so I assume the blank is more Moderate to Fast to begin with. Two questions: 1. Do you thi

Great to hear that! My son has been on me about a Mario themed rod for this yr. If you use the vinyl water slides anything you do specific, or just go epoxy over with a few coats. Thanks for the info!!!!

Have read in the past that some guys have used Waterslide Nail Art Decals for sports themed custom builds. I am a bit skeptical of using them, as I have read from some they will fade in the sun over time. Last thing I want to do is build a beautiful rod with decals that have basically been erased by UV. I know I can contact Decal Connection have them do a variation but not the logo itself. Was

Hey guys are there many still using something like a Fuji or Forecast Skeleton Spinning seat? With all the new options we have does the old Skeleton seat get much use these days. I was planning to glue up some cork/burl patterns to turn an insert for the skeleton seat. Been awhile since I made a grip or insert. Any advice for the skeleton insert.

Ok so i have not jumped head first yet, but have done some research leading up and wanted to get some opinions or guidance from those with actual experience. I am planning to do some smaller grips for casting and spinning rods with cork and eva. What i was planning to use is something basic, with a corded drill as the power source (one have should be sufficient with 2500rpm). I have looked at som

Thanks guys! I also spoke with Batson directly and they recommend the IMMS72ML for the type of application and weights... Worse case scenario I have a great spinning rod to add to the rod box for my father. Merry Xmas everyone!

Figures already ordered the ML... I was hesitant on the ML but was hoping it leaned closer to Medium. Guess I could make this yet another drop shot/ned. Though i do throw smaller swimbaits than u on lighter weights and dont rip them. I do like that REVIP70

Love those spiral wraps, was trying to explain it to my neighbor one day and he cannot get passed the layout. Said it looked gimmicky....Cant convince everyone. Have them on all of my casting rods now.

Recently picked up an Immortal to build for my father this offseason and was interested in the Immortal IMMS72ML specifically for throwing 2.8 Keitechs on light wire hooks up to 1/4 ounce at most-rarely that heavyHave no experience with this blank, would the ML be underpowered. Again mostly for small 2.8 swimbaits on light jig heads smaller than a 1/4 ounce in open water.

Hey guys was considering using one of the CCT casting seats, either the Razor or Blade and was looking for any feedback and opinions on them. Specifically for comfort and function. Look forward to getting feedback

David you are the best!!! Cant thank you enough for the information. Been looking forward to this build for a while. I will be using the same reel seat the MVT. One of my favorites. Thanks again for the info, was really nice of you. My biats in storage, long winter ahead here in NY. Time to build some rods and pass the time between diapers and bottles.
