Great input guys, guess the trim/hosel will be trial and error for fit

Not cutting to fit a larger reel, I usually trim down all my graphite seats to eliminate the excess threads that's all. Thanks for the advice though, I agree that I wouldn't cut just for a reel.

Haven't used this reel seat yet in a build, and am planning to mount this as an uplocking seat, so the threads are towards the butt end. This being said, can you cut the threads shorter on the toray seat, knowing this is not graphite. Expensive seat, so I did not want to risk ruining it. Also knowing I will be using this as uplocking, what are you all doing at the front of this real seat (n

Great question, could be the additional material in the glass/graphite that is the added weight.. Honestly not sure, but I am assuming you will get some great answers. I built my shallow cranking rod on a Bushido CB series of blanks. Heard a lot of good things about the Judge, but it is a thicker blank than the RodGeeks option.

Thanks Brian, not exactly a ringing endorsement. Appreciate the feedback - have read people really seem to like the DS700.

Hey guys have a buddy looking for a new spinning rod and was considering the Liberty line of blanks, seem to be a good price range for this build. Any reviews on how these blanks perform, his previous rods have been built on Bushidos and Revelation blanks. Curious if these are on the same level of performance, or abive or below. Thanks, love GetBit so figured i would consider the American made bl

Was checking out Tacklewarehouse the other day and noticed Phenix uses a number of components from Essex. Didnt find much information on their components but did locate them on Rod Component site... Anyone ever use their stuff, specifically the reel seats, look interesting just wasnt sure if they were any good. Look like what Phenix uses.

Like the winn just concerned about longevity. Would hate to have to replace a grip in a few years. Cork for me is just more reliable

Just curious are there any other options for premade grips for the VSS spinning reel seat other than what Fuji provides as the standard cork or EVA option. Was not sure if there were other cork options. Has anyone made their own if there are none available? Just curious.

What do u think of Fuji KL-H guides in sizes 16, 8, and 5.5, as stripper and reduction guides. For choke and running guides use one or two KB guides with the remaining being KT guides all in size 4.5 or 4.0.  I will be using 12# Braid to 8# Flouro leader.

Contemplating a few guide options for building a Neko/Drop Shot style spinning rod on the IMMS610MXF. I have a few builds on the Revelation and the old 822.5, but this new rod I was hoping to make even lighter. I have had great success with the Microwave guides from American Tackle, but was thinking if I could combine Fuji K Series with Recoil RSPG's in the belly section of the blank. Though I

About to consider cork or Winn grips for uplocking VSS spinning reel seat build. But i am concerned with the durability of using the Fuji Winn Grips. I know cork will stand the test of time but how about Winn? Have a rod with Tour Star grips that are falling apart after three years and a few winns showing age. Not sure its worth it in the long term.

Guys its just the belt for $20 - the machine itself is $80, there is two options for purchasing make sure you read it. One is for the belts and the other is the polishing machine. The price changes to $79 when you select the polishing machine. If you ordered for 20 you will only get belts as that is what your ordering, not really buyer beware in this case, make sure you read what you selected

Pretty sure the machine is 80$ and the strip is 20$ if i am reading this correctly.

Considering trying out the Hydra blanks myself. Looking to build a Neko Rig rod for a friend, and was considering Hydra for this build. Heard their blanks are a tad slower, but are a solid blank overall. Any feedback on the blanks and models you guys seem to like???

So I had a few break offs yesterday while fishing, partly user error and partly because the rod I was using and drag combo just were not up to par for the conditions. I was fishing along weed edges of milfoil on a northern lake, with 12 pound braid and 8 pound flouro as the leader. My issue was not the 2-3 pounders, it was the 5 plus fish that were snatching and running with my drop shot and pu

Would a 6'8 Blank Don be sufficient for casting distance and hook setting on long casts. Was a little hesitant on a 6'9, so going shorter raises some concern, but u know the blank.

Hey guys looking for a rod to do some multi purpose work, for rattle trap, spinnerbaits and 1/4 ounce Keitech swimbaits. Anyone have experience with this blank Bushido Spinner Bait Rod Blank SB69/10-15. Going to be built as a casting rod

Hey guys any suggestions on a cheap Cranking blank, 7 M or MH for throwing square bills and smaller lipless baits. Not looking for anything expensive, just a reliable cranking blank that wont break the bank. Will be built as a casting rod.
