Thanks guys, especially Norman, that is exactly what I wanted to hear.... If you add permagloss do you just coat, or do you prep the grips prior. Wasnt sure if you sanded these lightly or they even needed it.

Hey guys quick question, building on a IMMC73ML blank, but I do not have the blank on hand right now. Anyone have any idea on the reel seat size on an exposed casting seat. Seat will be around 11" from butt. Dont mind ordering a couple, but was wondering if anyone had it off hand.

Ok so I have a few grips I plan to use on upcoming builds, the CFX and the Carbon Fiber Batson grips..... So I have NEVER used these on a rod before, I am accustomed to cork or EVA, or even a WINN grip. So opting to try out the Carbon Fiber grips would be stepping out for me. That being said, aside from ascetics, do these serve much of a purpose. I rarely have my hands on the grips unless I a

Hey guys looking for your opinions to see if I am heading down the correct path. Rod will be used primarily with 10# to throw 110's and Rapala Shadow Raps or Jackal Rerange jerks... The more I look the more I continue to come back to drop shot blanks. Seem to like that ML or M power in those blanks with a faster recovery. Heres what i came up with, let me know about these options for this applica

Shaved and recoated turned out great, question was more how to move forward after it happens rather than how to prevent. Luckily this is the first time this has happened for me, but I have learned a lot in the thread and have some new ways to be proactive and prevent.

Thanks guys, actually do and did most of the suggestions, first time I have had this happen haha. Question was more towards what next, I know how to prevent it moving forward, but now that it happened I just went ahead and used a razor to slice the area that had lifted and re-coated. Should be good to go now. Thanks for the info though, will try to incorporate those.

So yesterday, when i got few free minutes from my 7 month old twins and 4 yr old whom thinks hes Ironman, I went down to apply my decal over the area I finished. After I applied it I put my FlexCoat high build over the decal area. Everything looked good, set it in the dryer and came back and the one edge of the decal had lifted. Unfortunately the epoxy was dry by the time I noticed. So now I have

Perfect, was planning to use Fuji NCP Size A on the wrap, didn't think there would be an issue, figured I would ask. Thanks Steven.

I have an unfinished blank from NFC, one of the Delta models I am about to start working on. This blank has ridges running the length of the rod as well, like Tom said its the resin from when the blank was formed. I actually kinda like the look of the rod, it's different from the smooth graphite on the rest of my rods. Not to hijack, but it maybe helpful for the original poster as well, not in

What are you using the rod to throw? Anything specific or just general purpose. Have you looked at the NFC MB 705-1 (IM), may wanna check that out as well. Plus it's $75. My buddy loves the one I built for him. This being said i do really like the Library blanks i have so far, light and the smoke color goes great with black grey alconites. Cant go wrong either way.

Yup, expecting my Delta Hybrids in the next few weeks, NFC was attentive and quick to answer any and all questions, including taking some measurements on the blank for me. Great group.

Anyone know if the Rich Forhan blanks are still available to be purchased, think Swampland had them awhile back. If not does Seeker make an equivalent? Would the Seeker BS706S (SGlass) be the consolation prize. Anyone use those XComps from Rodgeeks? RF Legacy Elite blanks

Take a look at the NFC Delta Hybrid CB blanks, I know that Mark Daniels Jr loves (loved since he is now with Favorite) the Graphite/Glass combination. I am actually going to be using the Delta 705CB Hybrid (Medium Heavy) cut down to 6'10. Gonna serve dual purpose between spinnerbait and lipless. The Hybrid blank will give you the glass tip with the backbone and power of the graphite down in the

Talked to an Alpha Anglers sponsored fisherman at an outdoor show in NY, he was working a Skeeter dealer booth. He mentioned to me that Gary Loomis built the blanks that were used for Alpha Anglers. So yes I assume what you saw was a North Fork Composites blank, very well could have been what you said. He also told me to send him any rods so he can get ideas hahahaha. Havent seen one of their

Quick question guys, I am considering the NFC Delta MB 705 (Delta LMX) - building for the primary purpose of throwing spinnerbaits (3/8ounce) and the occasional jerkbait for river smallmouth. My question is not having seen or used the Delta blanks, what kind of feedback would you give on this model for this type of presentation. Hard to pass up for $50, and figured it was worth a look. I was a

Good question Tom, was considering this blank but prolly more as a 6'9 or 6'10, wasn't sure the effect of trimming would have here.

89. GetBit
Has anyone else had issues with GetBit, specifically with missing pieces of an order or simply not getting any replies from emails. Not meant to diminish the business, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had the same recent experiences. Not getting a reply after more than a few attempts is a bit troubling.

I stopped using Winns just for this reason. Gonna have to tackle the same situation soon over here too. I was thinking to slice it off, remove and clean and replace butt as well. Most my rods dont have foregrips so i am lucky there.
