I know this has been dealt with before and I have tried every trick I know about. I am changing guides guides on a rod where I did not use cp. It though to get the thread of, but I managed. Under the old wraps there is some residue of the epoxy, that looks like wax, but hard to take away and the epoxy left where there was no thread. Ihave tried heat, alcohol, sponge, knife but nothing is 100 perc

Allthough living in Norway. I have fished Florida quite often. Most of the time using the FT- blanks. Does not matter where I fish, I have not had any need to overline. For my casting style they are perfect. Go with the 7 weight. I am the happy owner quite a few of the blanks from 4 weight till 12 weight. The 6 weight is a diamond and I do not overline it. Terje

Have replace some guides where i have not used CP on the thread. Is this much more difficult than with a thread with CP? Does the non CP thread adhere adhere better to the blank?

I have seen some photos on the photo page .Didsome research on this site. Still a bit uncertain. I am going to build a 10 foot 4 piece rod. I have a lot guide sets with guides from size 16 down SF size 7. How do do I place the guides?. First guide aligned with the reel, second guide ( what size?) 90 degrees to the first guid and the rest 180 degrees from the the reel. Right?

I have thought of using a fly blank, but thought even a 12 weight might not be able to throw 1 3/4 ounce.Maybe I am wrong. Casting disdtance and lifting power are somewhat important.

I have got a replacement top section for my 4-piece fly rodr that fits 3/8" too 1/2" further down on the male section than the previous one. Is any idea the make the female ferrulle opening a bit smaller by giving the inside of fit a coat with permagloss to give it a marginally smaller inside diameter or should I leave it as it is? Any other ideas? Thanks

Take it for what you think it is worth. Mine does everything what I demand from roll cast to ordinary casts with either WF or DT 6 line.

I have a some FT rods in 9 and 10 feet version. The longest ones works more toward the bottom and may be better for spey/switch/rollcast. The nine foot is no bromstick . I know that the cc dat says itop action rod but I do not feel it as a broomstick. Both models are recommended.

I was quick. What I ment is t Amtacks And Fuji (t)lsg have a high frame and (theoretically) I think that might help to keep the line off the blank during r the backcast. Having said that, I prefer Fuji (t) lsg over (t) sg.

Make a search on my name. I posted weights of the different guides earlier this year. Fujis concept titanium top is lighter than their snake counterpart. I use ceramic on all my rods except for REC recoils on rod I use on brushy streams and night fishing.

I use both, but use the Fuji titanium top instead of American Tackles, which is made of steel. Amtacks keep the line better off the blank. And their inside diameter is slightly larger than Fuji. Their weight compared roughly to Fujis steel frame lsg guides. The stripper guides are about the same weight for both titanium guides. Weight ? Fuji TLSG7: 2.4 grain, Fuji TSG7: 2,9grain and amtacks fly

Have not build one, but have owned one. Sold it to friend . We both praise the rod. Loop put the guides on the stiffest side of the blank. It si fantastic rod if your timing is right.

Has anyone any comments on the practical differences between tsg and tlsg guides on flyrod, except for the price difference?

without doubt a four piece because of the convinience. Much easier to bring around or travel with. They fit easily in my suitcase. Two piece rods takes much space when travelling around.
