151. Rod repair
I broke a spinning rod right in front of the first running guide behind tip top, when I wrap over the splice can I wrap up to the guide change color then go back to other color after guide is wraped will this be sound enough. Next time I'll watch where I put the cutting board in the back of the truck.

155. Re: help?!?
I cast the same weights with my 2 weight spinning rod as I do with my ultra light. I made my 6'6" matrix 7'6" and I absolutely love it. I have even landed a 9 pound cat fish on one. The tip is flexible but there is pretty good back bone. Very fun rod for trout and bluegill and crappie.

You can never to many rods around, never know when one might break, but sometimes one wife seems like to many, plus all of her shoes.

157. Re: Crappie pole
I'll probally have to buy a B&M, but just hate to buy premade rods anymore. 8 or 10 footers just don't reach far enough sometimes and a longer pole is the only way to reach some fish. I would'nt use a pole like that all day but they can come in handy.
Thanks guys

165. THREAD PACKING
I would like to know what everybody likes to use to pack thier thread I need a better tool and have to do a better job of packing. Also when I am packing wraps they sometimes slide off the end of the guide foot especially on the tip section of the rod.
Thanks

Cork will be to hard and dense to cut that way a fine tooth saw will work.

Hi Mike
Since your going to Mudhole they can show you different set ups in different price ranges. I made my own wrapper stand real cheap and my dryer. Mudhole will be a great help choosing everything you need. Wish I could buy everything like that. I did spend the money on a good mini lathe (Jet) get a lathe with electric variable speed will quicker also get a good adjustable wood turning chuck

174. Re: madeira thread
Hi Jerry
I also just experienced the same thing I bought 4 brands of color preserves and tried on a test piece and U-40 Color Lock worked the best with 2 coats on the rod I added a third just to be sure and it came out great.
Good luck

Hi Kirk
That exactly why I like to give my self plenty of time for a build short deadlines are a recipe for disaster.

Hi Curtis
On a 6 1/2 ft. rod I used 8+ tip top I think you will really like your selection for ultra lite . What blank are you using?
Have fun
